LAZULI “JE TE LAISSE CE MONDE” at NOTP Loreley Festival 2012 extracted of the DVD “Live @ l’abeille rôde”
Lazuli, a band from the south of France, was formed in 1998. Somewhere between progressive rock and electro-world, poetry and travel, the remarkable music of Lazuli is a clever mixture of different musical styles visiting new territories with a rather unusual instrumentation: marimba, French Horn, percussions, drum, guitars, vocals… But also and especially a unique instrument created by Claude Leonetti: the Léode*. For Lazuli’s musicians, songs are canvases on which they mix colors to paint their own world. The floating voice, playing with words, sings out ‘man’ in all of his facets. Lazuli brings atypical notes of originality to France’s musical scene and now carries them across it’s borders… On stage, Lazuli uplifts and bewitches…

This is a special piece of film to accompany the release of the live single ‘And Dream Of Sheep’. The vocal was performed live while filming Kate lying in the huge water tank at Pinewood Studios. This was to create a sense of realism, as the character in the song is lost at sea. However it became more realistic than Kate had imagined. She spent so long in the water during the first day of filming that she contracted mild hypothermia. She recovered after a day off and carried on filming. Everyone agreed it had added to the authenticity of the performance. This film was then projected onto a large oval screen which hung above the stage during the performances of her live show.
Astralis is a Chilean progrock band rooted in 1999. The musical brainchild is guitarist and singer Patricio Vera-Pinto.
The music is scouting the borders between symphonic and neo prog with the emphasis on the latter genre, especially the early Marillion and Pendragon fans will be pleased. The varied, modern sounding keyboard work is wonderful and the guitarplay powerful, often very moving.
The Spanish vocals sound warm, it is a pleasant Latin-American flavor on this beautiful album by the promising Chilean progrock band Astralis.
