KAMELOT

A group for Kamelot fans to wax lyrical about this amazing band. Every now and then one of those bands come along and blow you away - a thing that happened to me with this band along with my introduction to Nightwish, another fantastic outfit!

Hi all, thought  its about time I said something about Silverthorn before  it gets too far past the release date and like Poetry For the Poisoned end  up with  nothing  being said about it. I  just dont  know where the time goes these days, it seems  like last  month that PFTP came  out and  now it is getting  on for 3 months since the release of Silverthorn! I was hoping  members  of the group would have their  own things to say about PTFP but it wasnt the case and hopefully my comment here will start spark some participation over the  new release.

For the record, I loved Poetry and didnt want it to  end when I first heard it. Hunter's Season and House  On a Hill are  particular favourites  of  mine, and  of course the title track. On the tour  i thought Fabio from Rhapsody (of Fire) did a fantastic job and my 11 year  old son was singled  out in the crowd by bassist Sean (who shares  the same birthday as  me) who sent a roadie armed with plectrum, stickers, and setlist across to  him, an act that has given much credibility to  the  man for having such a great heart. Things  like that do not go amiss in my book nor  my son's.  Thanks Sean!!

And so  to  silverthorn. Simply class!! What a great record and what a fantastic choice of vocalist Tommy really is and very similar to the brilliant Khan. And as good in my eyes. He fits in brilliantly and the reception he got here in London was phenomenal. Song For Jolee has very personal connotations for me and is such a beautiful song. I love Falling like the Farenheit too, which is the nuts! Torn is awesome as is Veritas and My confession. Then there's the single, Sacrimoney, which really set my heart a flutter awaiting the release of the album, but OMG that Prodigal Son is just out and out brilliance of the highest order from start to finish with the religious like choir intro before Tommy's great singing begins to open the track out and then that delicious lead bursting in just sends chills up and down my spine, but the song just gets better and better as it goes along - an epic masterpiece that just flows form brilliance to brilliance. The bonus dic is interesting and the artwork and storybook package is just so cool. dont like the Linkin Park style bonus track Grace though...hope that isnt a sign of things to come Ooooo nooooo! Anyway Kamelot Nation, here's to the next 10 albums and happy continued listening of sliverthorn and a great new year to you all! /p>

Silverthorn is the tenth studio album from metal band Kamelot. The album was released on the Steamhammer label, a subdivision of SPV,on October 26, 2012 in Germany, three days later in the rest of Europe and one day after that in North America. It is the first album to feature Tommy Karevik as the lead singer. It will also be their third concept album. The story is original, about a little girl in the 19th century named Jolee who dies in a tragic accident, witnessed by her twin brothers. It deals with an affluent family that handles tragic events leading to coverups, secrets, and betrayal. The cover is Jolee, the main character and angel of afterlife, as an adult.

On 'Continuum', there is a silent break (1:53-2:49), with a final orchestral song afterwards (2:49-4:17).

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYBODY!!!

Shame about Roy leaving but Fabio is doing a great job, although something will probably happen about a new permanent singer at some point - as far as I'm aware Fabio isnt officially joining the band or does anyone know differently?

Greetings for the year again, hope its cool for people :)

Hi, welcome to the group! Absolutely the drama of it all is exactly what I love in music... I write very dramitically myself. I just love the whole conceptual feel to the band - they give an air of being something that's really important that the listener (or observer) cannot do without being knowledgeable of. What I mean is, at the end of the day it's 'only' music right, yet it feels like something far more urgent and vital. I love that in bands. Many don't have that, but those who do are kind of an expression of eternity - they mean that much. Crazy analysis I know but sometimes music gets you like that. Well, it does me anyway...I can't stand meaningless, throw away, here one moment gone the next bullshit. Bands like Kamelot among the other greats, last forever! (if you know what I mean)

I was introduced to them through one great song: Ghost Opera.
This is still one of my favorites receiving regular rotation in my own player. I need to discover more of their music. Having done some drama production myself, I am very into the dramatic presentation style of their music.
Glad to be a part of this group

I would love to meet them; how good is this band? and why aren't they fucking huge? The energy they put into live shows is just brilliant. I've seen them twice - that's on the last two tours - they have a bit of everything..I love em and really would go anywhere to see them if I had the money. Unfortunately i don't and so I am eargerly awaiting the 2010 London show (I'm a Londoner)!
I was introduced to them about 20 months ago and I thought they sound good, I'll go see em cos theyre playing real soon. I had a god awful day that day and ended up going alone and not knowing any of their stuff properly, and the sound was so crap! needless to say I didnt have a good time and came home pissed off. I went to myspace at 3am clicked on the tracks included and had my faith restored, and havent looked back since! AWESOME!!
