Cinematic by name and cinematic by nature, right from the first atmospheric keyboard chords, this is a glorious listen from start to finish, the simple complexity drawing the listener in and repeatedly grabbing the attention. With an ambitious theme of polish and world cinema, the largely instrumental numbers are a collage of dynamic modern progressive rock suffused with fluid keyboard embellishment, ethnic touch and dramatic mood, enhanced through appropriate multi-national narrative. Don’t simply bracket these with fellow countrymen Riverside. There is a resonance, clarity and drive, particularly from the sterling guitar of Marcin Gregorczyk and impressive synths and keyboards of Marcin Lucaj, which makes a musical world of difference, that they explore and exploit to the full.
