Multi-instrumentalist Arjen Lucassen is one of the most prolific writers and producers in prog circles, with this bombastic sci-fi rock release a perfect contrast to his previous project release (Guilt Machine’s subtle "On This Perfect Day" 2009). Lucassen plays rhythm guitars, Hammond organ, Mellotron, Solina strings and analog synths, with drummer Ed Warby (Ayreon), bassist Peter Vink, former After Forever keyboardist Joost van den Broek and guitarist Gary Wehrkamp (Shadow Gallery). It follows this project’s 2002 debut, “Space Metal” and re-unites vocalists Russell Allen (Symphony X), Damian Wilson, Floor Jansen (ex-After Forever), and Dan Swanö (Nightingale, Second Sky, ex-Edge Of Sanity). Their contrasting and complementary styles are to the fore on this rich, dark, heavy, guitar laden and gloriously OTT prog metal album.
