Upload Music

You can upload any song in the .mp3 format to the music on your profile page. If your songs aren't in the .mp3 format, you'll need to convert them before they'll work on this social network. To upload music, go to your music player and click the "Add Music" link. Then, just click the "Click to Add Music" icon to select which songs you'd like to upload from your computer. If you want to select multiple songs at a time, just hold down the "Control" or "Command" key on your keyboard and click the extra songs. Songs you've chosen to upload will display as a list on your social network.

After you add one batch, you can add even more songs to the list with the "Add More" link, and remove some using the "X" link to the right of each song. Once you're ready to upload, click the "Upload" button. Once you’ve uploaded your songs, you can add information about the songs like a title and artist name. Click "Save" when you're finished. When this is complete, you will be able to edit your playlist and re-order the songs in your music player. Click "Done" when this is complete. If you're experiencing issues with the bulk uploader, you can always use the simple uploader by clicking the link to try the "simple uploader" at the bottom of the page.

Music player isn't playing a song I uploaded

It's possible that the song wasn't in the mp3 format when you uploaded it. The Ning Network will give you an error message if you try to upload anything other than an mp3, but if you override the error message it will still try to upload it. If this happens, the music player will get "stuck" on this song. Try removing the song, converting it to the mp3 format, and uploading it again.

Convert the iTunes m4a format into an mp3 file

If you have a file in your iTunes library in the m4a format, you'll need to convert it to the mp3 format before you can upload it to your social network.

1. Open iTunes.
2. Go to the iTunes menu and select "Preferences." 3. Under the General tab, click on "Import Settings".
4. Under "Import Using," select "MP3 Encoder" from the drop down menu. Click OK.
5. Next, find the song or songs you wan to convert to mp3 format.
6. Highlight them, open the Advanced menu, and click on "Convert Selection to MP3."

Songs you converted to mp3 format will now be indicated by a ".mp3" at the end of their title.

Edit your music

You can change the order of the songs on your profile page, delete songs, or edit songs at any time. Head to your profile page and locate your music player. Click the "Edit Playlist" link.

To change a song's information or upload an album cover, click the "Edit" link. To remove a song from your profile page, click the "Delete" link. To change the order of songs, just drag and drop them to the desired order.
