Aethellis: Northumbria release - finally!

There was a minor setback for the masters of the new Aethellis album Northumbria where when converted to formats where compression is employed, the tracks displayed some increased vocal sibilance. Concerned with this issue, the "offending" tracks were re-mastered and sound great in any format now. Whew! The tunes are being submitted for copyright and when I return from a vacation later in September we'll begin releasing tracks for streaming and downloading online followed by CDs being made…See More

Biography
Aethellis' first album was spearheaded and recorded in 2002/2003 by classically trained keyboardist/vocalist/hack guitarist/Narcissist Ellsworth Hall and has many influences including rock, classical, synth pop, funk, jazz and even hip-hop. This either represents wide tastes or an inability to focus.

He joined guitarist Mark Van Natta and bassist Erik Marks to record the second Aethellis album, Northumbria - now on the Melodic Revolution Records label. The album also includes guitarist Chris Marks, saxophonist Joseph Dwyer and drummer Mike Harrington.

Ellsworth is also a video producer and filmmaker and creates music and sound effects for corporate videos, TV and film.

Northumbria finally nearing completion

The new album Northumbria is finally nearing completion. Still some work to do but I expect by spring to have it in release. I've posted two tracks from it, the full version of "Northumbria" and "Sounds Good." I'll probably tweak them a bit more before the final album versions, but they are quite close.

Been busy with this and a Tarkus-sized tankload of soundtrack work but I'm soon ready to focus on socializing with the great community on this board and have been…

New Aethellis album, Northumbria nearing completion

"Sounds Good" is the last track on the new Aethellis album and recently I recorded Erik Marks' bass part for the song (he is co-author of

the tune as well). Earlier this month we recorded Mike Harrington on drums at

Mark Van Natta's studio. Mike has a funny Keith Jarrett-like way of

humming the music while… Continue
