- Cailyn Lloyd began playing the piano at age 6, and the violin at age 8. She picked up a guitar in her teens, playing guitar intensely in the progressive-rock scene in London, England. She even played a gig at the famed Marquee Club. After returning to the US, she gigged with various cover bands, wrote music and learned theory, spent time learning bass, drums, and piano, continued to hone her guitar skills, and raised a family.
Six years ago, she returned to music full time, touring with the Alimony Blues Band. She then played lead guitar, bass, and keyboards with noted power-rock band IX Lives. Cailyn has since devoted most of time to studio work but also plays guitar with the band Enigma.
Cailyn maintains a small recording studio where she produced her first release in March of 2008, a blues-classical crossover EP which received good reviews including a mention in Vintage Guitar Magazine. She finished producing a full length a prog-classic rock CD in April 2009, recorded with Dani Daly, an award-winning Wisconsin rock vocalist. She is currently wrapping up production on a new project, Four Pieces--a progressive rock/classical fusion CD.
