Style of Prog: Art Rock

Biography: Druckfarben is a band of accomplished Toronto musicians who have bonded over their shared love of classic progressive rock music. They’re building on this love by writing and recording a debut album of original music, but in the meantime have built up an impressive repertoire of classic prog, including favourites from Yes, Genesis and Gentle Giant.

Singer Phil Naro, from Rochester New York, is best known as the voice of Talas, an influential metal band that gave bass hero Billy Sheehan his start. But his star-studded bio also includes collaborations with Coney Hatch (in which he replaced James LaBrie (Dream Theater) as vocalist), Peter Criss (Kiss), Lee Aaron, Kim Mitchell, Tango Down, Blood Red Flower and D-Drive. Phil is a singer-songwriter and has released several solo albums internationally.

Drummer Troy Feener was the anchor of The Full Nine, a Toronto hard rock band signed in the US to Mammoth records, and has also played with Tom Cochrane, David Usher, Honeymoon Suite, Larry Gowan, Kim Mitchell, Big Faith, Patrick Moraz (Yes), Rik Emmett (Triumph) and many others.

Guitarist Ed Bernard is an in demand session musician and composer on the Toronto scene. A multi-instrumentalist versatile in many genres,a typical day might involve multitracking a string quartet,blistering rock guitar,dixieland banjo,delta blues on a resophonic guitar or a full blown orchestral score. After touring across North America many times in many bands Ed decided to forgo the road and start his studio ED ID PRODUCTIONS. Ed has produced numerous independent artists and composed and/or performed television and radio spots for a wide variety of clients. The last two years have seen a return to his first love: PROGRESSIVE ROCK. DRUCKFARBEN has become Ed's primary outlet for his efforts as a composer,musician and producer.DRUCKFARBEN can be experienced live at Toronto's legendary ORBIT ROOM and at the world's first and perhaps only PROGRESSIVE ROCK JAM at ROC N DOCS in Port Credit Ontario.

Bassist Peter Murray has played bass for a wide variety of acts including Ron Sexsmith, Damhnait Doyle, Honeymoon Suite and Sass Jordan. In the 90s he played and recorded with Surrender Dorothy (MCA/Universal), and more recently released a critcally-acclaimed album as a solo singer-songwriter.

Classically-trained keyboardist William Hare has worked in virtually every style from country and pop to classic rock and acid-jazz. He played with a recent incarnation of Canadian 70s bubblegum pop band Abraham's Children.
