Biography
Face-Volt Lie is the culmination of the experiences witnessed and/or lived through out the last decade or so. The music or really the sound caterwauling in my head is a blend of many different styles and phases in my life. I guess it all started with the first album (given to me by my older brother) I owned and played over and over on my little suitcase record player. The album was Genesis, The Wind and the Withering. That was soon followed by Moving Pictures and Trick of the Tail. Then things got more complicated when I got my first guitar (also given to me by my brother) around the age of 12. When I was around 15 or 16, I traded that guitar for a bass, amp, and a distortion pedal and started jamming with some friends from school in a death metal band call Intestinal Loudness (yea, I know). Once high school was over and everyone went in different directions, I traded my Bass rig for a 4 track, guitar, and a drum machine and began writing on my own. I really worked on a mix of soon to be labeled alternative music, metal, funk, and techno. This blend of musical schizophrenia (that sound in my head) really shaped into what is now Face-Volt Lie. Along the way I have had the pleasure of playing with some very talented people in bands like Frail, Altered (Buda Voodoo for a while), Solar Pimp (I also know), Venn Diagram, and No Frame.

All of these bands have contributed to my influences, but have never really captured that sound I wanted to create. So in playing solo for a while now, I have had the chance to start working out the sound. Now I am in the process of rewriting and recording these ideas into an album call Time & Life. I hope you enjoy, and check in on the progress as the album takes form.
