- Gran Turismo Veloce is an Italian group band formed in 2008 when four musicians from Grosseto, Tuscany, joined together. The band's name is a direct homage to the famous sporty Italian cars from the '70s; just like the Gran Turismos, the progressive music crossed the Italian boundaries and spread all over Europe.
Taking inspiration from the sound of the '70s, and blending it with modern electronic music, jazzy and even metal moods, GTV started to write original music and play them live across Italy. During the first year, the band records and publishes its first EP, "In un solo brivido".
The band gets second place among 900 other musicians in the national contest ALTERNATIVERSION and it's acclaimed by critics and audience at the XIV Festival degli Interpreti in Savona. In 2010, Gran Turismo Veloce is finalist at the international contest EMERGENZA, takes part in Rock Targato Italia and participates in many live events culminating in a sensation at the MUSICAMP event near Milan.
While the band is working on their first studio album, they gets the attention of Samuele Santanna, frontman of the band Raven Sad. With the help of Loris Furlan, founder of the noted progressive label LIZARD RECORDS, Gran Turismo Veloce produces their debut album, "Di Carne, di Anima."
Mixed in R&B Studios in Civitavecchia by Max Rosati and mastered at Reference Studio by Fabrizio De Carolis, the LP is published by LIZARD RECORDS and distributed in Italy and abroad by BTF, G.T. Music Distribution, Eventyr Records, Pickup Records e Ma.Ra.Cash Records.
