- Biography
- Hitherside is a Belgian/American Rock/Alternative music duo consisting of multi-instrumentalist Sam Oerlemans & vocalist Jennifer Summer. Sam is a self-taught musician from Antwerp, Belgium who has been playing guitar since his teens & has also mastered drums, bass, & keyboards. Jennifer, an American ex-pat from Dayton, OH, was taking guitar lessons when she discovered her interest in singing. She is coached by renowned professional musical theater performer, Afra Voesenek. All aspects of music & video production have been done exclusively by Sam & Jennifer.
Hitherside formed in the summer of 2011 with an interest in filming the process of recording songs in the studio. After several interpretations of others' music, they released their first original song & accompanying video titled, "Insignificant Other". It was enthusiastically received by a growing fan base as well as PreSonus Audio Electronics, an American manufacturer of digital audio hardware & software, who soon made an endorsement offer to Hitherside to become a PreSonus artist. The video was subsequently placed prominently on PreSonus’ website & social media platforms. More songs & videos are currently in the works & a live band of veteran musicians has been assembled to begin touring in 2012.
