Biography
Joe "The Blade" Sharp (just call him "Blade") is the melodic bassist for the progressive rock group Cassandra's Curse. Blade's roots were formed at an early age in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan. He began playing bass as a means to join his high school concert band to escape the torture of taking an Asian Studies class.

Blade's musical career varied and took a back seat to his military and day job careers until 2006. Blade's faith had brought him to play bass in his church's praise and worship group. The musical fire was re-lit and stoked a more bodied presence to perform than the 20 minutes on Sunday. Playing for God is the only real pleasure there is no matter what the venue.

Blade's musical influences are deep rooted in the music culture of Detroit with a passion for the blues, as well as anything "Rock". He poses a high energy level in the practice studio and during live performances. Blade's musical balance has mostly been conceived on the fly more improvisational, at times, rather than a structured musical composition. His rebellious style has led him to a more melodic style of bass playing. If other instruments cover the more traditional lower notes, Blade has no trouble moving up on the neck and playing high. He enjoys a bass sound that is heard but resoundingly felt with a gutt rattling vibe felt in the pit of your stomach with those teeth rattling bass tones. When in doubt turn the amp up!

Gear: Blade's main "axe" is a custom-built Carvin XB-75P 5 string neck-thru Koa and walnut bass, and an Ibanez 4 string. Amps: Carvin BX1200 Bass head; Carvin 1x15 and 4x10 cabs; and Fender practice amp. {}
Influences or Favorite Bands
Prog Influences: Rush, Dream Theater, Tool, Yes, and Opeth

Bass Influnces: Getty Lee, John Deacon, John Clayton, Jr., Stanley Clarke, Donald "Duck" Dunn, and John Entwistle
