Once upon a time -- and that is as specific as it gets, folks -- a very young and small Ms. BluesRidge was discovered beneath a rose tree. She was successfully transplanted to a nursery in which she was surrounded by posters of The Beatles. Her imagination thus fertilized, she began composing her own (quite quirky) tunes and enrolled at Berklee College of Music. A decade or twelve and many adventures later, Ms. BluesRidge took root beside a remote terminal connected to the mainframes at the Harvard School of Public Health. Between music and MUMPS, unison and UNIX, sight-singing and C, she found her calling. The arrival of the Internet and later, the World Wide Web, sealed her fate.
Ms. BluesRidge's dark past spans aeons as a freelance editor, including contributions to several editions of the digital world's best-selling cult book The Secret Guide to Computers. Before her premature retirement, she morphed through several managerial positions with the entertainment channels of America Online (AOL US). Her most high profile and visible role was hosting a series of music chats produced by Downtown Julie Brown.
Ms. BluesRidge exists on a diet of music and literature of all genres. With her feline familiars and chronically connected computers, she resides in a phantasmagorical cyber-castle at the other end of your ISP.
