Biography
“Retrospective” was formed in 2005 by Robert Kusik (drums) and Maciej Klimek (guitar) and initially played as “Hollow”.
In 2006 four other musicians joined “Hollow”: Alan Szczepaniak (guitar), Łukasz Marszałek (bass guitar), Beata Łagoda (keyboard) and Jakub Roszak (vocal). In the same year they recorded their first demo, revealing the band’s inclinations towards progressive-rock.
The year 2007 brought about a lot of changes. The band took a new name – “Retrospective” and created an EP album called “Spectrum of the green morning”. This CD reached a wide group of listeners through, among others, Radiowa Trójka, Polish music radio station. It was also the time when foreign rock music media got interested in the band’s music. “Spectrum of the green morning” was well-reviewed in Germany, The Netherlands, France, Great Britain, Turkey, The USA, Mexico, Brazil and Japan. The growing interest in the band’s music resulted in a contract with Lynx Music.
In autumn 2008 appeared the first long playing album by “Retrospective”: “Stolen Thoughts” was warmly received by the listeners and media and appeared on many 2008 Top Music ranking lists (9th best Polish band in “Noce Muzycznych Pejzaży” ranking poll in Radiowa Trójka, 2nd best 2008 debut on progrock.org.pl., 8th best Polish CD of the year 2008 on rockarea.eu ). Also, for 7 weeks it stayed on a ranking list for the best NMP discs.
In the meantime, the band gave concerts in Poznań, Wrocław, Leszno, Konin, Toruń, Bydgoszcz. Two of them were exceptionally successfull. As a supporting band, they played before a living legend of art-rock, Fish (ex-Marillion) in Wrocław, where the audience called for an encore. Also, they gave an acoustic concert in a concert hall in Leszno to a packed house.
Now, they prepare their second long play…

Unfortunately, in 2011 for personal reasons the band had to leave Kuba Roszak ,vocalist. The band began working with vocalist Anna Spławska thus opening a new chapter in the band history. Retrospective at the moment starts to record material for their new album, concert in Rüsselsheim will be the first opportunity to listen it live.
