My name is Roberto Lupercio, thank you for the opportunity to communicate with you. We are pleased with the chance to tell you something about our projects in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico, *Rock Evolución radio show and Mexicali Jazz Festival activities*, we hope this presentation will
help to acquaint you with the work we are doing, introducing our people to the great music made in all the world.

As you will note in this letter we are a radio station dedicated mainly
to formal music, and we have since Feb. 2002, a new Progressive Rock,
International music, Jazz, Experimental and Fusion (Jazz-Rock), Metal,
Avantgarde, Space Music and New Music program on the radio, with personnel
working on this kind of radio shows since 1996 (something really unique in
our country), which is now broadcasted every Tuesday at 8:00 to 9:30 P.M.,
trough “Radio Tecnologico” (Broadcasting station of the “Instituto Tecnologico de Mexicali”), covering important mexican cities of the area, including Mexicali’s Valley, San LuisR.C.S, La Rumorosa, also some cities of Southern California (U.S.A) are reached by us, Calexico, Heber, El Centro, Holtville, Brawley, Westmoreland and Niland are some of them.

I am personally very proud of the crew involved in the radio show and the jazz festival, with a motivation that goes beyond a hobby. A group of really good friends who love music and with experience and knowledge of the actual scene. About 20 years traveling to concerts in the south of
California, visiting festivals of all kinds of Jazz and Rock as Prog Fest
in Los Angeles, and the active promoting participation at the local musical
scene, are the key to experiences that make you valorize this incredible
musical movement. Meeting people that is making history has no price.

We are very pleased of the opportunity we had the last years of discover great music from around the world and share it with our audience, that is always expecting very interesting proposals from our radio show.

Here in Mexicali there are many fans of different musical directions,
artists and bands making really challenging music. But it is sometimes
impossible to get their material in our city. One of the
ideas that we are slowly beginning to put in practice is sell CDs in small
quantities in our radio show.

If you know of some bands that could be interested in promotion in our
area, it will be a pleasure for us to include them in our radio show. Also, if you will be in any tour around here, maybe you could contact us and give us your requirements to play in our City, maybe something could be arrange with local and foreign promoters.

I am personal friend of many of the people involved in the underground world of progressive and jazz music. As Greg Walker's Symphonic, Leonardo Nahoum's Rock Symphony, Larry Kolota's Kinesis, Bernard's Musea, David Overstreet's ArtSublime, Juan Barrenechea's Mylodon, Lenardo Packovic's Moonjune Records, Alberto Vanazco's RecordRunner, Felipe Zurcan's Viajero Inmovil, and many more are friends and labels that send us material for airplay.

In Rock Evolución we play bands like Yes, ELP, Gong, Mike Oldfield, Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, Primus, RadioHead, Brian Eno, Phillip Glass, Peter Gabriel, David Byrne, David Bowie, Marillion, King Crimson, Jethro Tull, Ayreon, Dream Theater (progressive metal is very successful in our
show), IQ, Dixie Dregs, Return to Forever, Chick Corea, Soft Machine, Allan
Holsworth, Jean Luc Ponty, Pat Metheney, Michel Camilo, Weather Report,
Jaques Loussier, Rush, Universe Zero, Saga, Magma, Aka Moon, Dead Can Dance,
or any new or classic band that works in this kind of music or in the edge
of different kinds of experimental and new rock related efforts.

Also, in our radio station “Tecnologico de Mexicali” there are very good radio shows in different kinds of musical directions; Jazz, Classical, New Age, Traditional and Folk, Pop. So, any material in these fields will be greatly appreciated and promoted too.
