Style of Prog: Crossover Prog

Biography: The Band: The Room are a melodic rock band with ‘prog’ influences. Based in London and the south of the UK the band members bring together a rich musical background, influences and experience that shape the bands sound, delivered with great musicianship, catchy hooks and intriguing lyrics.

Who: Steve Anderson (Guitar / BV) Sphere3 / Grey Lady Down, Steve Checkley (Keys) Trigger, Andrew Rae (Drums) Legacy and Andy Rowe (Bass / BV) Firebird / Prime Cut, Martin Wilson (Vocals) Legacy / Grey Lady Down.

Timeline: Formed late in 2010 the band performed four hugely successful launch shows in October 2011 including a support for Wishbone Ash. To coincide with the shows the band released a promo single ‘A Casual Believer’/ ‘A Multitude of Angels’. The Room signed to Melodic Revolution Records (Florida) in October 2012 and announced planned album release.

Recordings: Debut album “Open Fire” released 11th December 2012 on Melodic Revolution Records. Recorded at Platform Studios located in the beautiful Berkshire countryside the album features seven new tracks and new mixes of the two tracks released as a single back in October 2011.

Influences or Favorite Bands: Our influences range from classic 70's Rock right through to Jazz Fusion Bonkers Prog!

Well as the dust settles on our first post album release show, we are thrilled to confirm that we raised a fabulous £250 cash donation to The Childhood Eye Cancer Trust on the night.The single Screaming Through The Noise is now well and truly released and we look forward to confirming the proceeds from the downloads as they come in.…
