In Virtue was formed with the intent of creating the most compelling possible metal, combining elements of death and progressive metal with an overall power metal need for speed. Their compositions are reflective of a need to produce works with a larger overall musical statement than just the typical metal sound. In Virtue represents a juggernaut of multi-stylistic pooling and aural evolution representing the vast potential of metal to transcend boundaries and conventions.
In Virtue was formed in 2004 as the brainchild of composer/lead guitarist/vocalist Trey Xavier and guitarist Greg Horton. After several lineup changes and setbacks, they are at last releasing the much anticipated Delusions of Grandeur, and even as it goes to press they are in pre-production for the follow-up Embrace the Horror, due out in 2010. Eleven songs and counting are currently being recorded.
