Locomotion of events.

Dear friends, music lovers and random passers by!

As the hype of Christmas holidays and New Year’s subsides, as most of you, I return to the routine, as well as coming back to the rails of the public space. The pervious year has just finished, and a lot of gloomy and dark news have come with the loss of too many genius artists at the same short period, but even with the burdens of these events, retrospectively, 2015 was full of musical and artistic, dark and light – peaks for many. Now, when the year has just finished, I consider to be a right time to give you some insight to what was going on in the narrow spotlight surronding my persona to those who care, and share some of the plans for the nearest future.

There are quite a bunch, some of which for those of you who prefer keeping eyes open for the new musical experiences might be interesting to follow. But before going down with the expanded descriptions of the blissful domain of ideas and plans, I would love to thank you for your direct or indirect support. It has brought Transport Aerian to the point which I, despite secretely aiming for, never imagined to really achieve. Our most recent studio album Darkblue has obtained overwhelmingly positive critical response, and was featured in various Year’s Top lists, including Top 2015 by Progarchives. This would not have happened without your help.

I, however, prefer to look forward, rather than backwards, so let me share some news of the incoming projects I’m involved in.

Besides one relatively global project that is currently on the early stages of development and that I shall keep under the hat until the late spring 2016, there are two other musical journeys in which I’m taking a part.

First – and very exciting one is the project is under the leading of our label brother, italian multi-instrumentalist Marco Ragni. I’ve been following his works for a while and liked them a lot, so when the idea of a collaboration with him has been brought up, I didn’t think twice. For his incoming album “Land of Blue Echoes” Marco teamed up with a group of other musical free thinkers, including Peter Matuchniak, Colin Tench, Jeff Mack, Vance Gloster, myself and the vocal goddess Durga McBroom, who was one of the original female vocalists featured on many Pink Floyd albums and live shows. The album is scheduled to be released by MRR on 16 March 2016 and I am really looking forward to it, as most of Marco works are marked by inpecable quality and musicantship.

The second major involvement that particularly kept me busy during the last half of 2015 is Fabulae Dramatis. With their new work, this rather exotic avant-metal project has stepped from once a small home-grown curiosity to the full-band extravaganza with the production of a very considerable size. With the shards of the international line up and a core based in the same country as I’m and impressive resources invested, this project have managed to give a birth to quite an curious album, in which I played the humble role of a bass-player and a singer – alongside with 3 other vocalists. I’ve also written 2 songs for them. The release date has not yet been made public and I, being but a guest musician can only know so much about their further plans, but I’ll definitely announce it once I know more myself.

The year has been full of exciting work, lows and highs – just like any art should be. And I assume the best I could wish for is to keep this new year in the same active pace.

Let’s keep doing it this way.

Expanding the points of view

Dear friends, music lovers and passers by!

I’ve been silent for a while, mainly due to incredible amount of work and preparations occurring behind the scenes, one of which was finishing the work of a long term research project I have been working on for the past couple of years to obtain my Doctorate degree.

This, however wasn’t the only thing happening, and I think now is the right time to share with you the news of the major project that I’ll be launching within the upcoming weeks and months. It will go under the title Ruminations on Darkblue and will be an expansive half-literary, half-visual project, that will have to do with the extension of the ideas and plots that are encoded in Darkblue album. It will include the visuals and words by Jess Telmatt, who did some of the visuals for Darkblue booklet, Rachel Bauer and myself.

The reasoning of doing this lies within the nature of what Transport Aerian has become with the release of Darkblue. This album is more of the literary exercise wrapped up in music. It is intentionally more of a synthetic sort of thing, its more than purely an album. The idea, the meaning, and the conception of Darkblue are by far more important than just is musical form.

For this very reason, I will move forward with this project in which I’ll be giving a lot of facts, ideas, visuals and thoughts regarding every aspect of Darkblue to carry out its purpose in the form of half literary and half music project. In the incoming weeks I will start with considerations on the piece ‘Black’ and the first set of words and visuals.

The project will be available on my official website www.transport-aerian.com, so you are most welcome to follow and share it with your friends and those who you think will appreciate this sort of artistry. Ruminations will consist of a several chapters, with every chapter to include a music track and a certain set of visuals. The literary part of the concepts, ideas and background will be explained. I promise it to be quite curious from both the artistic and voyeuristic points of view, as all this is quite personal!

Besides this project that I’m preparing, I’m also working on the live set and tying to put the live lineup together, I am also involved in a various side projects, some of which I might reveal in the upcoming weeks!
Keep in touch and keep the (progressive) music flowing!

Kind regards,
Hamlet

DARKBLUE: RELEASE AND MORE!

Dear friends, music lovers and passers by!

With a great excitement I would like to announce that my most recent, immersive conceptual album Darkblue is now out, with a great help and support from our label, Melodic Revolution Records. This album’s creation process has been a long introspective journey, as I was drowning into the deepest layers of my current personal state of mind – to dig out the emotions and shape them into this music. Not alone this time, that is, on this album has been created together with the beautiful musical and spiritual partner Rachel Bauer, whose voice and interpretation has clearly made this work different, haunting and added a glimpse of hope to its overall dark ideas. This time the release took place in USA, but the album is available worldwide, both in a shape of physical copies with a 12 pages coloured booklet or a simple digital download.

You can get your copy via Melodic Revolution Records website, Amazon or CD Baby. I would also like to highlight that as the label’s headquarters and distribution centre are located in USA, the shipping costs might differ, depending on your location, but the costs are dictated by the postal services and in no way are under our or our label’s control. So how can one save money by ordering the physical CD? Melodic Revolution Records suggests the following: if you purchase more than one album from the label Bandcamp store they will only charge $1 additional per item, so if shipping is $9.5 for one item it will only be 10.5 for two items and so on.

However, hope that you are willing to support what we are doing, enough to prefer a physical artefact in your hands, rather than just a download. I don’t quite have monetary reasons to wish so: this project remains mostly un-commercial and I mostly consider album sales as a way to cover the costs of its release and production. I do it all mainly for the art’s sake. And for the art’s sake I believe that the physical copies, with a well-crafted design, would provide you a bigger pleasure of tactile sensation, rather than music without any physical shape. So if you wish to join those who stand for the art and you love what we’re doing or into introspective and personal kinds of music, follow this link, listen to our album and order your copy!

And last, but not least I will give you a glimpse of my plans. What is to come now? We are working on a live program. While no extensive touring is planned we do consider an amount of shows in culture and art related venues around Belgium, and if things will fall into place, Netherlands and Germany. The live line up is getting ready and we hope to announce the details soon! I am as well working now on the footage for the official video for one of the songs from Darkblue… Which one? You will know soon enough!
I would also like to kindly remind you, that joining our mailing list on the official website provides you with the access to some additional sneak peaks, news and even material that is not otherwise available. Join us now!
Now, with this news, I would like to finish this letter.
I hope you’re having a great time. And I hope our music reaches you the way it is meant to.

Kind regards,
Hamlet,

There has been a big buzz surrounding the New Album Darkblue by Transport Aerian. The album features 8 brand new songs based on the surrealist self-penned story of exile, self-isolation and love. Darkblue will make its official debut at this years RoSfest. According to Hamelt, “Our label and I felt that RoSfest was the perfect place to release the new album as its one of the most popular and prestigious Prog Festivals in the world.” The festival is in its twelfth year and is attended by hundreds of prog fans from around the world.
