2 DAYS PROG +1 FESTIVAL – Returns This September

English translation provided by Google

3/4/5 SEPTEMBER 2021
Every evening concerts starting at 18:00
Piazzetta della Musica GATTICO-VERUNO (NO)

It is difficult to explain with what joy we write and distribute this press release. Finally, after a year of forced stop, live music is back, and with it, one of the most important progressive rock festivals at an international level: 2 DAYS PROG + 1 Festival is back!

Although the period we are facing has accustomed us to changes, our Festival returns as you have always known it: three evenings animated by four bands each, twelve names in all. The only difference from previous years is that, contrary to the golden rule of the Verunese review, some artists have already been our guests before. This is not a permanent change, but only an exceptional case dictated by (fortunately) exceptional conditions. That said, our deepest gratitude goes to the groups that will return to the Veruno stage, and – we are sure – the warm affection of the public will also go!

So, are you ready to discover the incredible line-up of the 2021 edition ?!

It starts in style on Friday 3 September with RØSENKREÜTZ, a neo-progressive project band that combines classic British-derived prog with modern influences. Followed by METAMORFOSI, pioneers of Italian prog as well as exceptional performers. Finally, two really unmissable names for prog-amateurs conclude the evening: GOBLIN REBIRTH and LE ORME! The former is strongly discouraged for the faint of heart (get ready to relive the gothic atmosphere that so excited Dario Argento), while the latter – together with PFM and Banco del Mutuo Soccorso – have a rightful place in the Olympus of Italian prog. A simply unmissable evening.

Speaking of BANCO DEL MUTUO SOCCORSO … What if we told you that Banco will be the headliner of the second date? That’s right: the evening of Saturday 4 September will be closed by the legendary B.M.S. But, since quality music in Veruno is never enough, they will play before the Banco three other exceptional names: THE TRIP directly from the Anglo-Italian scene of the 70s, followed by the anarcho-psychedelic rock of THE WINSTONS and, in order not to miss anything, the REVERSE OF THE MEDAL! In short, two evenings that fully pay homage to the history of Italian prog.

We conclude our review with the third and last day of the Festival, Sunday 5th September. IL PORTO DI VENERE (which will present the songs of the debut album) and NOSOUND (from the parts of Porcupine Tree, to be clear) open the dances, while to close them there will be a more unique than a rare event: two great names of Italian music of the caliber by ALBERTO FORTIS and OSANNA will play with the VERUNESE SEPTEMBER MUSIC ORCHESTRA! A concert that will see rock and classical sounds intertwine, two souls only apparently distant, as prog has always taught us.

Last but not least: every day, about a couple of hours before the start of the concerts, at the Forum19 Auditorium a few steps from the stage, it will be possible to participate in the Meet & Greet. Not only meeting with the names of the Festival, but also an opportunity to listen to other artists, such as feat. Esserelà (3-4 September), KU.DA (4 September) and The Forty Days (5 September).

It seems to us a comeback in a big way, and to you? We are waiting for you!
N.B. All concerts will take place outdoors, will have free admission and you will be able to take advantage of the catering service within the area.

Original Italian Press Release

2 DAYS PROG +1 FESTIVAL 3/4/5 SETTEMBRE 2021
Ogni sera concerti a partire dalle ore 18:00 Piazzetta della Musica GATTICO-VERUNO (NO)

Allora, siete pronti a scoprire l’incredibile line-up dell’edizione 2021?!

Esserelà (3-4 Settembre), KU.DA (4 Settembre) e The Forty Days (5 Settembre).

A noi sembra un ritorno in grande stile, e a voi? Vi aspettiamo!

N.B. Tutti i concerti si svolgeranno all’aperto, saranno a ingresso gratuito e si potrà usufruire del servizio di ristorazione all’interno dell’area.

ProgStock Ready to Rock the Hamilton Stage, Union County Performing Arts Center, October 1-3, 2021

May 16, 2021

ProgStock Festival, the American Northeast’s Only International Progressive Rock Festival, will triumphantly return to the stage for its fifth year in 2021. As the world is still emerging from the pandemic, ProgStock 2021 has been designed as a hybrid event, allowing fans to experience the festival in a manner that suits their personal choice. In-person attendance passes include a seat in the theater, access to artist meet-and-greets, and participation in after-parties. For those who wish to (or must) participate virtually from afar, we will offer live streaming and the ability to view performances for a limited time after the festival concludes.

The festival will take place on the weekend of October 1-3, 2021, in the Hamilton Stage building of the Union County Performing Arts Center (UCPAC), located at 360 Hamilton Street, Rahway, New Jersey 07065 (a short walk away from the Main Stage theater on Irving Street). The Hamilton Stage theater is of much smaller capacity than the Main Stage theater, so please act quickly once passes are placed on sale!

Details of the festival lineup, event timeline, ticket pricing, and partner hotels will be announced over the next few weeks. Passes for 3-day in-person attendance will go on sale in June. Details of how to participate in other viewing options will also be provided this summer.

ProgStock Festival was founded to give artists and fans in the genre of progressive rock a place to play and experience their favorite music in a great environment. ProgStock’s main stage will feature music that most radio hosts would find to be too long and too complex to play on the air. Dancing in 7/8, indeed, is left to fans who are accustomed to calculating high math in their heads. However, the festival presents a variety of rock that can be enjoyed by any music lover.

ProgStock Festival provides the artists, attendees, and their families with a great place to share their talents and love for music in a family-friendly environment. Artists mingle with the fans and share experiences as well as music and art. The venue provides everyone with a comfortable place to listen to music with phenomenal sound. The City of Rahway provides everyone with a hub where they can enjoy the festival, enjoy great food and beverages, shop, relax and recover in a beautiful hotel room, and easily hop on a train from and to Newark International Airport or New York City.

RoSFest Team Release Statement and Video For New Festival Dates

First, and foremost the RoSFest team would like to thank their supporters for being so patient in awaiting further announcements with regards to new festival dates. As fans and supporters of music and festivals; we tried and consider the impact of our decisions on fans and try to minimize any disruptions to the best of our ability while still maintaining the best overall experience. These considerations are what have guided the RoSFest Team in deciding to move the 2022 festival dates to make sure fans and supporters won’t have to miss out on any great music.

The new RoSFest dates have been chosen as not to conflict with the new dates of the Cruise to the Edge (CTTE). We have decided it was in everyone’s best interest to not share the same dates. The RoSFest Team wants to wish the organizers and CTTE team the best of luck on the new dates for the cruise. To that end, we have moved RoSFest 2022 from May 2022 to April 15-17, 2022.

We continue to work diligently behind the scenes to sign contracts with hotels to secure the best possible rates for your accommodations and organize the best event we can. We hope to make some of those announcements soon and we are sure you can’t wait to find out who will be on the big stage, you won’t be disappointed, so stay tuned.

Thank you for your patience and support, we cannot say that enough, but most of all we look forward to mingling with our friends and meeting our many new supporters.

Lots of ❤ John, Nick, Rebecca, Tony, Lisa & Octavia

Meet the New RoSfest Team

John:

When RoSfest founder George Roldan approached me to consider taking on the task of leading RoSfest into a new era, I was deeply humbled and excited. I had been both a long-time patron of the festival and a core benefactor since the reorganization as a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to enhancing people’s lives through access to great music and the support of musicians.  As a musician, scientist, and entrepreneur, I hope to utilize my skill set to both maintain the incredible tradition and quality of RoSfest and to lead the organization to greater future glories. The Board that we have organized represents a wonderful group of highly experienced, talented, dedicated, and selfless individuals whose only desire is to see RoSfest continue and grow.  We will be expanding our search for charitable contributions and will aggressively seek grant monies to provide a stable financial foundation for future performances. RoSfest is reborn and music lovers everywhere will benefit.
John Blangero (Sun King Rising, Harlequin Reborn)

Nick:

I’m thrilled to say the future of RoSfest looks bright, some may call this the rebirth of one of the top music festivals in the USA if not the world. I would call this the next step in the evolution of greatness we hope to continue to build on the time-honored traditions laid out by our dear friend and founder George Roldan, as well as his wife Beth and the RoSfest staff. I am part of what I would consider an elite team of musicians and music industry professionals who are not only my colleagues but friends sharing one vision; to continue to grow a festival that is as much about the people who attend as it is the musicians who pour their heart and soul into their art.  Anyone who is familiar with me knows that I am passionate about music and dedicated to the people that create and support it. It will be my privilege to respect what RoSfest is and will continue to become, and what it means to those who embrace it. We will continue to bring you the same quality festival that you’ve all come to expect, love, and enjoy over the past 17 years.
Nick Katona (Melodic Revolution Records, PeacockSunrise Records, Power of Prog, ReZonatZ)

Rebecca:

I am so out of this world excited to be a part of this team for RoSfest. So it seems only fitting to honor the past, the present, and the future of this amazing festival, with this opening… “Prog, the final frontier. These are the voyages of team RoSfest, the Musicians, and Prog Fans everywhere. Our mission is to explore new Prog Bands, to seek out new Prog music, and to boldly go where no Prog has gone before!”
Rebecca Avelar (MRR Music Group)

Octavia:

So, RoSFest lives to see another day and I get to be a part of making those days happen. It’s going to be a pretty steep path and an arduous task to take over from where George left off; one need only consider the fact that it’s taking 6 of us to even attempt to do what he did almost single-handedly (not forgetting the help of his wonderful wife, Beth, and support from his Crew). But keeping the RoSFest torch burning is something we all feel ardently about and we will do our very best to keep bringing you a quality event and occasion to momentarily be part of something which goes beyond our common love of music. The RoSFest 6 are a dedicated and close-knit team that will be putting their very different and individual skills together to ensure RoSFest continues for many years to come. We look forward to seeing many old and new faces along the way!  As the French might say, Le festival est mort, Vive le festival!
Octavia Brown (2Days of Prog+ 1, RoSfest)

Lisa :

In this post-Covid world, where the live music scene has been hit hard due to global lockdowns, very few festivals have escaped unscathed.  Fortunately, with the help of a base of loyal devotees and a vision to the future by founder George Roldan, RoSfest will get a chance to rise from the ashes of the wreckage, and return to the standard of excellence people expect from one of the world’s most beloved progressive music festivals. I am honored to join such a devoted team of creative friends, each bringing a unique experience to the table in order to meet the new challenges that we face as concert events gradually reopen.  It is a new era for RoSfest, and an exciting future awaits.  Following George’s fearless example, let the tradition continue!
Lisa Wetton (Edison’s Children, United Progressive Fraternity)

Tony:

As the new Board member on the ground in Sarasota, I will be responsible for a lot of the day-to-day local legwork that is required throughout the year to organize and run a successful festival. My background in entertainment management and business will come in handy! I have always loved attending RoSfest and helping musicians achieve their dreams. I am honored and excited to be working with the excellent people here, and I am thrilled to be part of the ROSfest future!
Tony Anzalone (Music Manager Sun King Rising, Harlequin Reborn)

RoSfest (The Rites of Spring Festival) made its debut in 2004 at the Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania until 2007, and then moved to the Keswick Theatre in Glenside, Pennsylvania for 2008 and 2009. In 2010, the festival moved to the Majestic Theater in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and in 2019, the festival moved to its current location at the Sarasota Opera House in Sarasota, Florida.

2019, the festival moved to the Sarasota Opera House in Sarasota, Florida. The festival is known for importing some fantastic talent from around the world including Flor de Loto (PE), Anglagård (Sweden), Spock’s Beard (US), Riverside (Poland) IQ (UK), Magic Pie (Norway), Unified Past (US), Pain of Salvation (Sweden), Lazuli (France), RPWL (Germany), Ambrosia (US), Kinetic Element (US), The Flower Kings (Sweden), Evership (US), among others.

December 26, 2020, George Roldan announced on the official RoSfest Facebook page that; “The Rites of Spring Festival says “Goodbye, for now,” the COVID -19 pandemic had made continuing the festival unsustainable. However, on February 1, 2021, George Roldan posted another announcement stating that RoSfest would continue under new management. New event dates have yet to be announced.
