Biography | Vladislav SEMYONOV (keys/vocals) and Alexander GOLENSKIY (guitar) have been playing together for more than ten years, initially blues and RnB, but in 2006 Alex discovered YES and GENESIS. They formed AUXFORD in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, in 2007, and their first progressive song was ”Rain Memories”, which was written in 2006 (although the arrangement that can be found on the EP is from 2009). At the end of 2007 Vladislav and Alex took a break, coming together again in 2010 in the pop-rock project MARTINIYA. When that group split the following year, they decided to keep working together to make the music they liked, composing and jamming in studio. In January 2013 Vladislav invited Dmitriy STEPANENKO, a drummer he had known for some five years, and they then spent ten months searching for a bassist until they were contacted by Yuriy VENCHAGOV who had discovered them through the web. Their debut gig was in February 2014 , and in May and June they recorded their debut album ‘Reflection’, which was released on 18th July. Dmitry left at that time, as he is Ukrainian and he was concerned about the political situation in his country, but one day he will come back. Andrey BURTSEV joined as his replacement in November 2014, and the band are currently working on their second album. |
