PINK FLOYD VINYL RELEASES CONTINUE WITH ‘ANIMALS’

AnimalsThe LP reissue programme on Pink Floyd Records continues with the release on November 18th of Animals, the first time it has been issued in over 20 years. After over eight months of continuous recording at their own Britannia Row studios in 1976, Animals was originally released in 1977 and became one of the band’s most popular albums. The album cover, featuring ‘Algie’ the pig floating above London’s Battersea Power Station, is amongst Pink Floyd’s most recognisable covers, while Algie was most recently sighting above London’s V&A Museum to launch The Pink Floyd Exhibition: Their Mortal Remains.

Animals joins the first seven Pink Floyd albums (The Piper at The Gates Of Dawn, A Saucerful Of Secrets, More, Ummagumma, Atom Heart Mother, Meddle, and Obscured By Clouds) in having been remastered in 2016 from the original master tapes and pressed in heavyweight 180 gram vinyl, with packaging based closely on the original LP sleeves.

In addition, The Wall and The Division Bell LP remasters are both available now, Wish You Were Here will be available on October 14th, and The Dark Side of the Moon on November 4th.
