HRH Prog Festival 2020

HRH Prog lanches its 9th voyage!!!!

HRH Prog IX is all about legends – which don’t come any bigger than Yes keyboard wizard – songwriter – producer – TV and radio presenter and author Rick Wakeman! With over 90 solo albums to his name, Rick continues to lead the way in British prog, having released his latest creation “Piano Odyssey” in 2018.

We are humbly honoured to welcome such a genuine rock icon to HRH Prog IX and Rick is bringing his full band to the two venues next March – the O2 Academy in Sheffield and the prestigious Shepherds Bush Empire in London – so expect a set brim-full of music from a career spanning 6 decades plus perhaps progressive takes on a rock classic or two. We honestly can’t wait for this.

The second headliner is none other than Mr. Hawkwind himself – Dave Brock. This “Audience With” set delves into a vault of music and stories we can only describe as “Brockworld”. From the busking and banter from the dawn of Hawkwind to playing some gems from his 6 solo albums, which have never really seen a live audience to moving into unchartered Hawkwind territory, this is a must for all true Hawkwind & Prog fans alike.

As if two legends of rock aren’t enough – two more huge names in prog are heading to HRH Prog IX. We have John Lees’ Barclay James Harvest who are continuing to carry the torch for the band that released no less than 10 albums in the 1970s, featuring the trademark Mellotron keyboard sound beloved of many a progressive rock fan.

Focus fly in from Holland to join us next March. Best known of course for their 1971 hit “Hocus Pocus”, the guys are still very much active having released their latest album “Focus 11” earlier this year to critical acclaim.

All the way from Lithuania, and making a return to HRH Prog, are The Skys. Having released their latest – and brilliant – album “Automatic Minds” just a few weeks ago we can’t wait to see Jonas and the guys again.

Also announced for HRH Prog IX are German’s The Spacelords who bring their wonderful space rock set to London and Sheffield. Nth Ascension have caught the prog community’s attention with their latest album “Stranger Than Fiction” released this May and we can’t wait to welcome them to the HRH family. French-based Franck Carducci makes his HRH Prog debut – and lists Pink Floyd, Genesis and Supertramp amongst his influences – perfect for us! Bram Stoker are having a resurgence having been best known for their 1972 prog epic “Heavy Rock Spectacular”. The Room will feature their new line-up – currently making waves with their latest release “Caught by the Machine.” Cambridge based psych-space rockers Psychic Lemon round out the incredible line-up for HRH Prog IX.

HRH Prog 8 at Shepherds Bush Empire Sold out in 4 weeks and Sheffield in 4 months after it was added. The 9th voyage is live and unleashed – jump onboard quick if you want to take full advantage of the Early Bird rates, Hotel Packages which include Royalty & VIP passes and the ever-popular Royalty passes which disappear like gold dust very early.

Franck Carducci team is proud to announce the making of a new album “The Answer”

The Franck Carducci team is proud to announce the making of a new album “The Answer” scheduled for release at the end of 2019

Statement from Franck:

I’m really thrilled to reveal that I’ll be releasing a new album by the end of 2019. The album is called  “THE ANSWER” and will contain a few songs already played live during our “On The Road To Nowhere” tour + some new tracks + of course the already released single: ‘Slave to Rock ‘n’ Roll‘.
It will feature some very special guests including Derek Sherinian (
Alice Cooper, Dream-Theater, Billy Idol, Black Country Communion, …), Jimmy Pallagrosi (Zio, Karnataka) and Fabrice Dutour (Backroads, Dyslesia)
“The Answer” might very well be my ‘proggiest’ album (whatever that means), but it will certainly appeal to all melodic rock lovers – from blues to hard-rock – and especially to classic-rock and vintage 70s sounds lovers.

In order to produce this album, we’ve just launched a crowdfunding campaign, where you can not only pre-order the CD/Vinyl, but also receive exclusive goodies (including Arion Superstar‘s guitar, …), so if you wanna support us, just browse to this link and take your pick:

Your help allows our projects to come to life and I am forever grateful for your everlasting support! 🙏
Now let’s spread the word!!!”

All the best, The Franck Carducci team

The Franck Carducci Band has released the music video for “Slave to Rock ‘n’ Roll”

The video was produced by La Koloc Production and stars our new fictional character: “Arion Superstar“.

Statement from Franck:

I’ve always loved and been inspired by Greek mythology. You might remember my first album opens with “Achilles”. Some time ago, I discovered the myth of Arion. He was the first famous musician, playing his kithara, going on tour, getting kidnapped by pirates who robbed him and threw him out in the water, … and I thought, wow … this guy was actually the very first rock-star!

Then I had the idea of creating a modern version of this story, so I wrote a 15 minutes song called “SUPERSTAR” telling a similar story to the original but taking place today.
That’s how “Arion Superstar” was born.

Arion was born in Hollywood, he’s seen it all and done it all. He’s no longer enthusiastic about life and success because he’s already lived it all. But anyway, his story is told in that SUPERSTAR track and I started impersonating him on stage during this song.

Then I thought, this Arion is such a big rock star, he must have had a hit!

So I started to write a would-have-been hit single and that’s how “Slave to Rock ‘n’ Roll” was born. It’s more a classic-rock track than a prog epic but when we tried it live, everybody seemed to love it so we thought it would be a good idea to make a music video out of it.

Given the subject, we could use a lot of humor and self-derision, in the pure tradition of the 70’s classic rock hits.
We had a great time shooting a funny video full of glam to go with it, and we now hope the viewers will be entertained” Watch it now

The song is also available on all digital platforms

All the best,

The Franck Carducci
