Big Big Train are delighted to announce the re-issue of their breakthrough 2009 album The Underfall Yard. The new release will be available as 2CD and 3LP Vinyl as well as in digital formats and will be available on 25 March (CD version in Japan via Marquee) and 9 April (rest of the world via English Electric/RSK/2 CD/digital version and Plane Groovy/RSK/3 LP version).
Released in December 2009, The Underfall Yard was the first Big Big Train album with vocalist David Longdon and drummer Nick D’Virgilio as full band members, the first to feature Dave Desmond’s brass band and the first to include the guitar playing of Dave Gregory.
Alongside the remix of the original recordings, a second companion CD/third vinyl LP features 48 minutes of material, including a new 2020 studio recording of the title track, preceded by a previously unreleased brass prelude.
Also included is the Songs From The Shoreline suite, which was planned for the album’s original release in 2009. For this re-issue, in 2020 the band completely re-recorded Victorian Brickwork, which segues into Fat Billy Shouts Mine (which has to date only been available on the Far Skies, Deep Time EP).
The final track on the second disc is Brew and Burgh, a newly composed song written by BBT founder and bassist Greg Spawton specifically as a companion piece for this re-issue of the album. In addition, original album artist Jim Trainer has painted some new images for an expanded booklet.
“The Underfall Yard is where the story of the contemporary line-up of Big Big Train begins. For the re-issue we asked BBT mixing engineer Rob Aubrey to open up the original sessions and to completely remix the album so that we could make a definitive version,” explains Greg Spawton. Rob had more time and a bigger budget to work with, plus the benefit of another decade of mixing experience. His new mix has significantly improved the sound and dynamic range of the album.”
“The Underfall Yard just missed out on the vinyl revival, so for some time we have been planning for a vinyl version of this re-issue,” David Longdon adds. “We’re thrilled to have the album available on vinyl for the first time and so beautifully presented with Jim Trainer’s paintings.”

London UK – Chasing The Monsoon’s eagerly anticipated debut album ‘No Ordinary World’ will be released on Sept 20th from Immrama Records, Plane Groovy and Gonzo Media. Ian Jones, a founder member of critically acclaimed symphonic/progressive rock band Karnataka, and Steve Evans, multi-million selling songwriter and producer join forces with vocalist Lisa Fury, guitarist Ian Simmons and special guests including world-renowned Uilleann pipe player Troy Donockley (Nightwish) to create a powerful, dynamic and evocative sound fusing lush cinematic soundscapes with progressive, Celtic and world music influences, all bound in a state-of-the-art production.
This is expansive, cinematic music painted on a very broad canvas but with intimate story telling at its heart, taking the listener on an emotional journey through the rose-tinted memories of our childhood summers to the devastating threat of a nuclear winter but with an overarching theme of hope over adversity.
“Creatively, we were inspired by the beauty of our unique and beautiful yet fragile planet, juxtaposed against the increasingly loud alarm bells that warn of humankind’s impact on its future,“ says Ian & Steve. “Ultimately, this is an album that shines a positive light on an uncertain world.”
Recorded in Swansea and London, No Ordinary World is released in Sep 2019 on deluxe audiophile heavyweight vinyl as a double album edition of just 300 copies in a gatefold cover and is available to pre-order from www.burningshed.com
In closing Ian & Steve had this to impart, “We hope you enjoy listening to our debut album as much as we enjoyed making it. This has been a labor of love for the band and we’re very proud of our new creation. Over to you!”

Plane Groovy is very excited to announce the re-release of English Electric Part One on double heavyweight colored vinyl (transparent light blue). Pre-ordering is now live at Burning Shed with a release date of 18 October 2019.
This edition is unnumbered. There has been strong demand for a rerelease of the album, from those who have either come slightly late to the party, or those who have only recently (re?)adopted the vinyl format.
We felt it important to clearly differentiate between the long out of print first pressings and these new versions, but that it was important to retain the integrity of the artwork so that as a package it fits in on the BBT shelf! There are a couple of changes which should be mentioned: Firstly, due to the planned vinyl release of The Underfall Yard in 2020, we’ve changed the bonus tracks on Side 4 as you can see from the image below.
Of note, this version of Seen Better Days, recorded at Real World Studios, features Tim Bowness as guest vocalist. Secondly, the audio has been remastered by Rob Aubrey to offer an even wider dynamic range than last time. As a result of these changes, the album has been given a different catalog number and barcode since this edition is demonstrably “different” from the original release.
450 copies will be available through Burning Shed, the remaining 50 copies will be available from Nellie at The Merch Desk, for those attending the upcoming live concerts.
Plane Groovy is also very excited to announce the re-release of English Electric Part Two on double heavyweight colored vinyl (transparent orange).
