VAN EPPERSON:  ” I would much rather ” CONTRIBUTE ” to a Kickstarter campaign, where I know the artists will get all of the money I spend for their music instead of pre-ordering from Amazon where the artist will end up with only a small percentage.  I’d also much rather the artists be able to make the music they want to make, without having to answer to record label execs, who dictate aspects of the album’s music according to sales demographics.” 

     ” Fact is, artists don’t fund their new projects out of their own pockets ever — not even YES. Why do people think the current YES is on Frontiers Records? The answer is two fold — funding and distribution. YES didn’t pay for their new album and neither does any other big name band, so why are some YES fans claiming JON should pay for his? JON and Jean-Luc have chosen to let the fans produce their album. That is deep respect most artists never offer their fans. ” …..
