It’s Dyanne and Jan of Potter’s Daughter, and we are starting TO RECORD OUR SECOND FULL LENGTH ALBUM!! We’re excited and ready! You have been the ones supporting us and appreciating our vision (THANK YOU!!!), so for the next 30 days, this will be the place where all of you who believe in, respect, and see our vision can support this dream and make it a reality!
Our new album will have nine-tracks; five vocal songs (two featuring beautiful and poignant lyrics by my dear friend, Ronda Dubiel)
and four instrumentals. We are arranging another movement of the Ginastera Piano Sonata, (same Sonata as Movement IV from The Blind Side), and are also arranging an awesome atonal piece composed by my dear friend and renowned composer/conductor/soprano, Julia Schwartz. (www.juliaschwartz.ch)
AND, the crazy talented artist, Armand Cabrera, will be creating ORIGINAL ART for the cover of the vinyl and CD!! Please check him out at www.armandcabrera.com!! Armand’s artwork is represented in galleries throughout the USA.
We feel it is the right time to do this now, despite Covid, so we can maintain momentum created by our features in Prog Magazine this past December and the ensuing publicity.
We know we have asked you for your help many times in the past, and we want you to know we are truly grateful for your willingness to lend us a hand. And now, we are asking you to help us again, this time, with our crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for our new album.
This crowdfunding features a very special “Scholarship” section. We are thrilled that the amazingly talented young artists, Parker Dubiel and Greyson Krisanda, have generously offered several original pieces from their portfolios to our campaign. Since they both are hoping to attend college this coming fall (to major in Art!), we have decided that the majority of the profits from the sale of their artwork during our campaign will go directly to them. This way, pledgers have the opportunity to support these extremely talented young artists as well as Potter’s Daughter!
This will be Potter’s Daughter’s third crowdfunding campaign since we began in January 2018 (we crowdfunded The Blind Side and Blood and Water). In between, we have privately funded everything we have released, and all the related expenses. We have learned so much each time, the biggest lesson being that we absolutely CANNOT do this alone. Crowdfunding is SO demanding, not just in time but emotionally as well. It’s not easy to ask your friends to give you money.
But now, especially since Covid, there are few other avenues available for independent artists to raise funds. Record companies have long ago stopped funding recording for all but the biggest and most successful artists. So, we hope that despite the difficulties we all have faced this past year, you will still be willing to share even just a small amount in exchange for some new music and some saucy rewards!
The costs of recording, producing, manufacturing, and marketing music are, well, high. Here’s how it looks: (without any provision for Jan and I)
Rehearsal + 2 days recording for one amazing Drummer (to be announced!) + travel expenses and accommodations $2800
3 days recording (2 with drummer, 1 overdubs) at SI Studios in Old Forge (YAY, TOM AND WIGGY!!!) $2000
That’s where we came up with the goal of $4800. If we should exceed the goal, it will be used for recording the vocals, mixing, mastering, manufacturing, and marketing! Lots of m’s!!
Along with the fantastic artwork, we are also thrilled to share with you exclusive recordings only for this campaign! We have piano renditions of the beautiful piece, Catherine, by Tom Kelly, and are also offering a never before released piano rendition of the Moody Blues classic, Nights in White Satin! And if you really love piano music, we are offering a never before released ALBUM of piano renditions, featuring Catherine, Nights in White Satin, plus never before released original piano compositions which we arranged for The Blind Side!
And lastly, we have some CRAZY AMAZING opportunities for those of you who are interested and able to afford a little more……?
These two gorgeous oil paintings by Armand Cabrera, “Cosmic Dancer” and “Morningstar” are being offered for sale RIGHT NOW through this campaign!
I know you are going to LOVE this new music, it is our BEST so far!!! So please, pick one of our many rewards and become part of the story!! Even if you can’t contribute, that’s ok, there are other ways to help us! Like, help us get the word out and make some noise about our campaign!!! You can also SHARE this campaign by using the Indiegogo Share tools!!!
If you do not feel comfortable pledging over our Indiegogo website, we are also happy to receive private donations. If you prefer, you are welcome to make a check out to me personally and mail it to:

Thanks again to all of you!!!! Peace, Love, and Sunshine Dyanne and Jan
Devin Townsend is currently working on new material for upcoming albums, and for a current lack of touring possibilities and encounters with fans on the road he decided to do a series of live albums, quarantine albums, and generally interesting projects that keep people entertained while he’s busy on his next larger releases.
Devin comments: “So we bring to you the ‘Devolution Series’: a grouping of oddities and interesting material that I would like people to hear, but don’t necessarily want to present as a ‘major release’. The series will include all the quarantine songs and concerts, as well as various live shows from the past few years.
The first release is a remixed and remastered version of the ‘Live in Leeds’ show that was originally on the ‘Empath’ Ultimate Edition. It was a cool acoustic show that deserves to be heard I think, so we can use this as an introduction to the series.
I’m am currently deep in the writing of my new projects and am very excited to be doing so. Thanks for facilitating my ability to do that, and I hope you enjoy the ‘Devolution Series’.”
The ‘Live in Leeds’ show has previously only been released in video format, and “Devolution Series #1 – Acoustically Inclined, Live in Leeds” now marks the audio release of said show. It will be released on March 19th 2021.
As a warm-up to this release, check out the ‘Hyperdrive (Live in Leeds 2019)’ video here:
“Devolution Series #1 – Acoustically Inclined, Live in Leeds” will be available as Ltd. CD Digipak, 180g Gatefold 2LP (incl. the album on CD) and as Digital Album and as of now it is up for pre-order, so make sure to grab a copy here: https://devin-townsend.lnk.to/DevolutionSeriesOne-LiveInLeedsQR

Big Big Train are delighted to announce the re-issue of their breakthrough 2009 album The Underfall Yard. The new release will be available as 2CD and 3LP Vinyl as well as in digital formats and will be available on 25 March (CD version in Japan via Marquee) and 9 April (rest of the world via English Electric/RSK/2 CD/digital version and Plane Groovy/RSK/3 LP version).
Released in December 2009, The Underfall Yard was the first Big Big Train album with vocalist David Longdon and drummer Nick D’Virgilio as full band members, the first to feature Dave Desmond’s brass band and the first to include the guitar playing of Dave Gregory.
Alongside the remix of the original recordings, a second companion CD/third vinyl LP features 48 minutes of material, including a new 2020 studio recording of the title track, preceded by a previously unreleased brass prelude.
Also included is the Songs From The Shoreline suite, which was planned for the album’s original release in 2009. For this re-issue, in 2020 the band completely re-recorded Victorian Brickwork, which segues into Fat Billy Shouts Mine (which has to date only been available on the Far Skies, Deep Time EP).
The final track on the second disc is Brew and Burgh, a newly composed song written by BBT founder and bassist Greg Spawton specifically as a companion piece for this re-issue of the album. In addition, original album artist Jim Trainer has painted some new images for an expanded booklet.
“The Underfall Yard is where the story of the contemporary line-up of Big Big Train begins. For the re-issue we asked BBT mixing engineer Rob Aubrey to open up the original sessions and to completely remix the album so that we could make a definitive version,” explains Greg Spawton. Rob had more time and a bigger budget to work with, plus the benefit of another decade of mixing experience. His new mix has significantly improved the sound and dynamic range of the album.”
“The Underfall Yard just missed out on the vinyl revival, so for some time we have been planning for a vinyl version of this re-issue,” David Longdon adds. “We’re thrilled to have the album available on vinyl for the first time and so beautifully presented with Jim Trainer’s paintings.”
CD Disc One 1. Evening Star 2. Master James of St George 3. Victorian Brickwork 4. Last Train 5. Winchester Diver 6. The Underfall Yard
CD Disc Two 1. Songs From The Shoreline: (i) Victorian Brickwork (2020 Version) (ii) Fat Billy Shouts Mine 2. Prelude To The Underfall Yard 3. The Underfall Yard (2020 version) 4. Brew And Burgh

Today is an anthemic celebration of life and making the most of what we have, here and now, something we have all come to appreciate in these unprecedented times.
Today’s a perfect day, so spend it with me The sun is high, the wheel of time It will turnYou know it goes by so fast No time to dwell in the past I wish today would never end
“Today Is about being in love with a moment that can never last,” says Chris Braide, “and treasuring the feeling that fleeting moment, brings. The lyric is truly from the heart.”
Geoff Downes adds: “Today is DBA’s 21st Century take on the romance of spending a perfect day with someone you love. Here’s to more perfect days – today, together and beyond.”
Geoff Downes (keyboards, programming) and Chris Braide (vocals) are joined on the album and Today by Ash Soan on drums, Andy Hodge (bass) and Dave Bainbridge who provides a particularly tasty guitar throughout the track. Today sends out a positive message while the infectious melody promises to make this a radio delight.
Halcyon Hymns is the fifth DBA collaboration and follows their previous critically-acclaimed studio albums Pictures of You (2012), Suburban Ghosts (2015) and Skyscraper Souls (2017). The duo have also released Live In England (2019) recorded at their first ever concert at Trading Boundaries, East Sussex, in 2018

When RoSfest founder George Roldan approached me to consider taking on the task of leading RoSfest into a new era, I was deeply humbled and excited. I had been both a long-time patron of the festival and a core benefactor since the reorganization as a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to enhancing people’s lives through access to great music and the support of musicians. As a musician, scientist, and entrepreneur, I hope to utilize my skill set to both maintain the incredible tradition and quality of RoSfest and to lead the organization to greater future glories. The Board that we have organized represents a wonderful group of highly experienced, talented, dedicated, and selfless individuals whose only desire is to see RoSfest continue and grow. We will be expanding our search for charitable contributions and will aggressively seek grant monies to provide a stable financial foundation for future performances. RoSfest is reborn and music lovers everywhere will benefit. John Blangero (Sun King Rising, Harlequin Reborn)
Nick:
I’m thrilled to say the future of RoSfest looks bright, some may call this the rebirth of one of the top music festivals in the USA if not the world. I would call this the next step in the evolution of greatness we hope to continue to build on the time-honored traditions laid out by our dear friend and founder George Roldan, as well as his wife Beth and the RoSfest staff. I am part of what I would consider an elite team of musicians and music industry professionals who are not only my colleagues but friends sharing one vision; to continue to grow a festival that is as much about the people who attend as it is the musicians who pour their heart and soul into their art. Anyone who is familiar with me knows that I am passionate about music and dedicated to the people that create and support it. It will be my privilege to respect what RoSfest is and will continue to become, and what it means to those who embrace it. We will continue to bring you the same quality festival that you’ve all come to expect, love, and enjoy over the past 17 years. Nick Katona (Melodic Revolution Records, PeacockSunrise Records, Power of Prog, ReZonatZ)
Rebecca:
I am so out of this world excited to be a part of this team for RoSfest. So it seems only fitting to honor the past, the present, and the future of this amazing festival, with this opening… “Prog, the final frontier. These are the voyages of team RoSfest, the Musicians, and Prog Fans everywhere. Our mission is to explore new Prog Bands, to seek out new Prog music, and to boldly go where no Prog has gone before!” Rebecca Avelar (MRR Music Group)
Octavia:
So, RoSFest lives to see another day and I get to be a part of making those days happen. It’s going to be a pretty steep path and an arduous task to take over from where George left off; one need only consider the fact that it’s taking 6 of us to even attempt to do what he did almost single-handedly (not forgetting the help of his wonderful wife, Beth, and support from his Crew). But keeping the RoSFest torch burning is something we all feel ardently about and we will do our very best to keep bringing you a quality event and occasion to momentarily be part of something which goes beyond our common love of music. The RoSFest 6 are a dedicated and close-knit team that will be putting their very different and individual skills together to ensure RoSFest continues for many years to come. We look forward to seeing many old and new faces along the way! As the French might say, Le festival est mort, Vive le festival! Octavia Brown (2Days of Prog+ 1, RoSfest)
Lisa :
In this post-Covid world, where the live music scene has been hit hard due to global lockdowns, very few festivals have escaped unscathed. Fortunately, with the help of a base of loyal devotees and a vision to the future by founder George Roldan, RoSfest will get a chance to rise from the ashes of the wreckage, and return to the standard of excellence people expect from one of the world’s most beloved progressive music festivals. I am honored to join such a devoted team of creative friends, each bringing a unique experience to the table in order to meet the new challenges that we face as concert events gradually reopen. It is a new era for RoSfest, and an exciting future awaits. Following George’s fearless example, let the tradition continue! Lisa Wetton (Edison’s Children, United Progressive Fraternity)
Tony:
As the new Board member on the ground in Sarasota, I will be responsible for a lot of the day-to-day local legwork that is required throughout the year to organize and run a successful festival. My background in entertainment management and business will come in handy! I have always loved attending RoSfest and helping musicians achieve their dreams. I am honored and excited to be working with the excellent people here, and I am thrilled to be part of the ROSfest future! Tony Anzalone (Music Manager Sun King Rising, Harlequin Reborn)
