THE FIRST SINGLE TO BE RELEASED FROM HIS UPCOMING ALBUM MOBULA (28TH FEBRUARY 2025)
Revered pianist and one half of atmospheric prog duo Iamthemorning Gleb Kolyadin returns today with the first single from his new solo album Mobula (28th February). The track, titled ‘Glimmer’, introduces new styles and folk elements for Gleb, taking listeners on a journey through cosmic landscapes, shifting times of day, and deep space, where imagination transforms the ordinary.
‘Glimmer’ is brought to life by a mesmerizing, handcrafted animation by Natalia Ryss. Known for her work with Max Cooper, Ryss’ stunning video, crafted frame by frame over three months using different techniques like rotoscoping, perfectly mirrors the track’s otherworldly charm and adds a visual depth to the ethereal quality of the music.
Drawing from poloniumcubes – Gleb’s vast music diary of over 500 tracks – Mobula unfolds as a suite of 14 short stories, each one a vibrant novella in sound. It’s a sci-fi-inspired odyssey that captures the spirit of grace and exploration, embodied by the album’s titular oceanic creature. From neoclassical elegance to pulsating electronic beats & folk textures, Mobula traverses genres and emotions, mirroring the movements of an imaginary planet and its ever-changing atmospheres
Mobula marks Gleb Kolyadin’s first album fully conceived and produced in the UK, following his relocation two years ago under a Global Talent visa. The album, mixed and mastered by Vlad Avy, blends rich folk and ethnic influences with electronic rhythms. Central to Mobula’s vibrant sound is the contribution of percussionist Evan Carson, a notable figure in the folk scene, whose work on almost all the tracks added an exuberance and dynamism to the rhythmic palette.
‘his music comes from deep within his soul. What treasure lies there’ – Prog Magazine
Adding to the album’s distinct character is the enchanting resonance of a 100-year-old Broadwood grand piano that was used throughout the recording process. Captured by engineers Marcel van Limbeek (Tori Amos) and Gianluca Capacchione (Max Meser), the piano brings a timeless, organic warmth to the compositions, contrasting beautifully with the album’s modern production techniques.
‘a master’ – Classic Rock Germany
Mobula will be released on 28th February on Kscope on purple vinyl LP, black vinyl LP, CD and digitally. Pre-order here: https://GlebKolyadin.lnk.to/mobula

The universe of Gong began in 1969 when visionary Daevid Allen was inspired by a profound psychedelic vision. A founder member of Soft Machine, Allen incorporated his spiritual and metaphysical leanings into an evolving collective. More a mythology than a band in the conventional sense, Gong established itself as one of the most unique, innovative, and experimental rock groups of the seventies, through an exploratory mix of rock, jazz and psychedelia with elements of mysticism and surrealism, unafraid to deliver its messages directly, obliquely or whimsically.
The current incarnation, who were put together by Daevid for his swansong album with Gong, I See You, honour his intention that Gong do not die with him, urging the band to “carry it on into new unknown heights and depths far beyond anything I could ever imagine myself”.

The current lineup of Kavus Torabi, Dave Sturt, Fabio Golfetti, Ian East and Cheb Nettles is the most stable in Gong’s illustrious history, having written, recorded and toured together for eight years since Allen’s passing. A dynamic, powerful and explosive live band, their music draws from the credo of the original Gong while remaining committed to pushing the composition, performances and message into new realms, paying no mind to nostalgia.
The Unending AscendingSpecial Edition will be released on Kscope on 27th September on digipak CD with an 8-page booklet. Pre-order:https://gong.lnk.to/UA_special_edition
CLEAR VINYL Signed by both Rick Wakeman and Gordon Giltrap – Limited to 250 Copies
“From Brush & Stone” is a studio album by guitarist Gordon Giltrap and keyboardist Rick Wakeman. The album is the first opportunity to record together for Gordon Giltrap and Rick Wakeman. Both are longtime friends who have been on separate musical paths for forty years.
“Having known Gordon for more years than we both care to remember and having great admiration for both his musical and technical ability plus his unique style of composing, it was a no-brainer for us to produce this album together. Logically, I played exactly what I felt was needed on Gordon’s compositions and he played exactly what he felt was needed on mine – another no-brainer. It’s one of those albums where every time you listen to it you discover something new in the music. Each track evokes a different emotion for the listener which indeed it did for Gordon and myself when we recorded the tracks. An album I think we can be rightly proud of.” – Rick Wakeman
“In 1963 at age 15 I was forced to leave school by my well-meaning father, suggesting that I learn a trade thus abandoning any hope I had of going to art college. Since becoming a writer of tunes I think subconsciously I have been using music as my creative canvas. I have always found that paintings have been a great source of inspiration culminating in 1976 with the William Blake inspired Visionary album and then in 1981 with Peacock Party followed by the Pre-Raphaelite inspired Brotherhood Suite. When the opportunity came along to make an album with my old friend and towering keyboard genius Rick Wakeman I put forward my Brotherhood Suite as a concept and starting point. Rick responded very positively and came back with his idea of classical sculpture as an inspiration. This he did superbly. I was given the luxury of time to work on his compositions, about 6 months in fact, and I hope I did justice to his creations. It was and continues to be an honour to have worked with one of the great Godfathers of progressive rock.” – Gordon Giltrap

US prog artist Leon Alvarado is excited to unveil his newest album, “The Changing Tide.” Set to release on May 31st, this highly anticipated album follows the successful EP release, which previewed two of the album’s tracks; a captivating cover of Pink Floyd’s “Brain Damage,” and the enchanting instrumental “Dance of The Pink Elephants.”
Alvarado explains, “The creation of ‘The Changing Tide’ was very much influenced by the musical heritage of Pink Floyd. We aimed to seamlessly blend their timeless formula with our unique styles to produce material that charts its own course.”
While acknowledging the influence of Pink Floyd as a foundational element, Alvarado emphasizes the infusion of his own creative perspective. “Listeners can anticipate a departure of sorts from my previous works,” he shares, “yet they’ll find my hallmark keyboard textures and atmospheric nuances intricately woven throughout.”
Alvarado is joined on this musical endeavor by an ensemble of exceptional musicians, featuring bassists Tony Franklin (known for his work with Jimmy Page and Paul Rogers on The Firm) and Gary Gnaedinger, guitarists Edoardo Scordo and Damian Darlington (both renowned members of Brit Floyd), alongside Jimmy Griggers also on guitars and saxophonist John Helliwell (from Supertramp fame). Additionally, L.A. session musician Pablo Hopehayn contributes on strings. The backing vocals on Brain Damage are skillfully provided by Jeff Sanson, Liz Hall, and Linda Alvarado.
“The Changing Tide” will be available for streaming on all major platforms and will also be released on CD through Melodic Revolution Records. The physical CD promises to be a sensory delight, boasting stunning artwork within an impeccably designed package that will undoubtedly enhance any music enthusiast’s collection.

Recorded in 2016, “Powertron” has languished in the Bill Nelson archives for eight years.
A potent collection of twelve pieces that highlight Nelson’s prowess and invention as a guitarist.
“Its genesis came whilst recording tracks for ‘The Jewel’ album. Amongst these was a track titled ‘Drive Shaft’ which I considered too brash for ‘The Jewel’, but too good to abandon. I decided to create a suitable album to house ‘Drive Shaft’ and ‘Powertron’ was the result. It’s an album of left-field rock songs, mainly vocal but layered with loud and edgy guitars. It will appeal to those who enjoy the wilder side of my work.” – Bill Nelson
