August 17, 2017 – Globetrotting guitarist extraordinaire, JEFF KOLLMAN (BOMBASTIC MEATBATS, ALAN PARSONS LIVE PROJECT, ASIA feat. JOHN PAYNE), is making his long-awaited return to Japan with his celebrated progressive rock trio COSMOSQUAD in support of their new album, “The Morbid Tango”, with shows in Osaka, Nagoya, and Tokyo starting this Friday. Kollman is also set to reunite with the ‘Voice of Rock’, GLENN HUGHES (DEEP PURPLE, TRAPEZE, BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION), for a string of special shows in Australia and New Zealand in September and October. In addition, Kollman has announced the remastered re-issue of his acclaimed third solo album, “Shedding Skin”, originally released in 1999.
States Kollman: “Well, back on the road after squeezing in some family vacation time in the Midwest. No rest for the wicked as they say! Extremely excited to finally get back over to Japan with COSMOSQUAD and playing “The Morbid Tango” material for the fans. Osaka, Nagoya, Tokyo – here we come! Also, in case you haven’t heard yet, I’ll be joining ‘Big Daddy’ GLENN Hughes for a half dozen shows in Australia and New Zealand in September and into early October. Looking forward to re-connecting on stage – it’s been quite a while since we last played together but Glenn is always amazing to work with. We will perform full concerts of classic DEEP PURPLE material. So many great tracks on “Burn”, “Stormbringer”, and “Come Taste The Band”. Glenn and Purple fans will be in for a real treat! And in-between those two treks I’ll be doing ASIA and a pair of ROCK PACK shows – those are always fun to do. How could it not when you’re standing next to singers like Lou Gramm, Steve Augeri, Bobby Kimball, and John Payne playing some of the most iconic rock songs ever written? – Last but not least, I’m finally getting around to putting my third solo album, “Shedding Skin”, back in print. I just got the re-mastered master back from Borislav Dimitrov at HiZ Productions who also mastered “The Morbid Tango” for us, and it’s sounding killer! The official release date is Friday, September 1.”

GLENN HUGHES FORCED TO CANCEL UK/EUROPEAN TOUR AFTER CO-HEADLINER LIVING COLOUR PULLS OUT AND BOOKS A CONFLICTING RUN FOR THE SAME DATES
Promoters Left With No Choice But To Refund All Tickets For Previously Announced Dates
Hughes’ New Solo Album Resonate Was Released On November 4th Via Frontiers Music SRL
Glenn Hughes is forced to cancel his UK/European tour today after the co-headliner Living Colour booked a conflicting support slot on Alter Bridge’s European tour. New management for Living Colour knowingly booked them onto the Alter Bridge tour although they were already confirmed for the Glenn Hughes co-headline tour, which had been on sale since April. Alter Bridge and Glenn Hughes have been long-time friends and neither Alter Bridge, their management and agents or even Living Colour’s agent TKO were aware that this was taking place.
Glenn Hughes was planning on touring Europe in support of his upcoming solo album, Resonate. When word got to promoters that Living Colour were no longer planning to perform on the co-headline dates, they were forced to refund all tickets. All ticket holders of Glenn Hughes‘ UK/European tour will be offered refunds at the point of purchase and can call the venues for more information.
“I am saddened and disappointed that I will not be able to perform for my UK and European fans as I had originally intended. When I partnered with Living Colour to do this tour, I thought we would be able to make something special happen at these shows. Unfortunately, an undermining manager got involved and in turn ruined what would have been an amazing tour. I can’t wait to get back to the UK and Europe to bring the new songs of Resonate to my fans overseas,” explains Glenn Hughes.
Glenn Hughes‘ new solo album, Resonate, has been receiving critical acclaim from media and fans alike. The album will be available in two configurations: regular cd and deluxe edition including one bonus track and DVD. The Deluxe Edition includes the bonus track “Nothing’s The Same”, plus a bonus DVD disc featuring the “Making of” the album documentary – “Heavy” (song video), and “Long Time Gone” (song video). After the last couple of rounds of band projects, Glenn decided to concentrate again on his solo career. While touring non-stop throughout 2015 with shows in South America, Europe, UK, Japan and Singapore, sold out shows were the order of the day. In addition, late in 2015, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, announced that DEEP PURPLE, including MKIII, were to finally to be inducted!
2016 was his busiest year yet with summer festivals and solo shows in the USA, UK, and Europe and the recording of his first solo album in over eight years! “Resonate” is a triumphant return to form for “The Voice of Rock”!
From album opener, “Heavy” to the very last chords of the closer, “Long Time Gone”, it promises to be a contender for many an ‘Album of the Year’ list. It features his live solo band members, Soren Andersen (guitars & co-producer), Pontus Engborg (drums) and newcomer to his band, Lachy Doley (keys), in addition to long-time friend and drummer, Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), who joined them in the studio for the opening and closing numbers. It might well be the most heavy sounding of his solo albums, but as is his trademark, musical diversity shines through and as Glenn commented upon completion of the new recording, “this album is the first kind of a complete Glenn album”.
So make no mistake, The Voice of Rock never left the building!

Vocalist/bass guitarist/songwriter Glenn Hughes is a true original. No other rock musician has carved such a distinctive style blending the finest elements of hard rock, soul and funk. Stevie Wonder once called Hughes his favorite white singer.
The first important band Hughes was a member of that achieved notable success was TRAPEZE. In 1973, Hughes joined Deep Purple. The trailblazing hard-rock legends had just weathered the departure of vocalist Ian Gillan and bass guitarist Roger Glover, but guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, keyboardist Jon Lord and drummer Ian Paice continued with the addition of Hughes and David Coverdale.
Since 1992, Hughes has toured extensively in Europe, Japan and South America in support of solo albums, but more recently has been involved with award winning supergroups’, BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION with guitar star Joe Bonamassa, keyboard player Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater) and drummer Jason Bonham, son of the late Led Zeppelin legend John Bonham and CALIFORNIA BREED, who also featured both Hughes and drummer Jason Bonham.
Glenn Hughes was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of the Mark III line up of Deep Purple. He spent key years of his career as the beloved bassist and vocalist of the group, recording on the classic albums: Burn, Stormbringer, and Come Taste The Band. Hughes and other members of Deep Purple were in attendance to receive the honour. This achievment was a culmination of a 40+ years career which saw Glenn leave his indelible mark in several musical endeavours and bands.
