Musician Nils Lofgren says numerous instruments were stolen ahead of Dallas concert

Nils Lofgren, a member of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band and a renowned musician in his own right, is scheduled to play the Kessler Theater in Dallas tonight. However, the show won’t be exactly what he planned.
Lofgren says some of his instruments were stolen Thursday night from a van parked at the Holiday Inn Express in West Oak Cliff where he was staying.

According to the musician, he’s missing four guitars — two red Takamine acoustic guitars, one tan Takamine acoustic guitar and a Fender stratocaster that’s red, orange and black — plus a Lyon and Healy electric lever harp. Lofgren’s guitar tech’s toolbox is also missing, he says.

“This is my 50th year on the road and I’m not used to mishaps like this,” Lofgren tells GuideLive.

Lofgren filed a police report Friday morning. He says the incident happened about 10:30 p.m. Thursday evening and that he found the van’s backdoor lock broken at about 9:30 a.m. Friday morning. His wife, Amy, tweeted a photo of alleged suspect.

Officer Carlos Almeida said the Dallas Police Department was looking into the incident, but did not have any info to release about the investigation at this time.
