Cloud Over Jupiter Announces the Release of Its New Album Atomic Jupiter Via Melodic Revolution Records

Cloud Over Jupiter returns with their 4th release, Atomic Jupiter.

Led by multi-instrumentalist Jerry King and featuring long-time original Jupiter member, Michele King, the music continues its often-dangerous path into the future of progressive rock, from beautiful orchestrations of color to revealing a captivating new sonic dimension of Lovecraftian horrors.

The album features 10 brand new tracks, arranged and written by King, that include guest musicians Ron Anderson (PAK), Nick Didkovsky (Doctor Nerve), Dave Newhouse (The Muffins, MOON X), Dereck Higgins, Pete Zolli, Derek Pavlic (Colouratura, Refestramus) Paul Sears (The Muffins), Amanda Chaudhary, Pete Prown, Ric Parnell (Atomic Rooster, Nova, Spinal Tap), Richie Castellano (Blue Oyster Cult), Jamie Bruhn (the Lizardz), Mark Larson (the Lizardz), and others.

Produced by Jerry King, mixed & mastered at the Rec. Room by Ian Beabout, the album also has stunning artwork layouts by Dan Sauer Design and is dedicated to the memory of Ric Parnell, who left this planet in May 2022.

Melodic Revolution Records is excited to be working with Jerry King and Cloud Over Jupiter on the upcoming album Atomic Jupiter to be released on September 6th, 2024.

About Atomic Jupiter:
The concept of the album and, the concept of the Cloud Over Jupiter band and music, is to represent the horror of futurism through music, and/or the beauty and delicate nature of music and Love. It’s the constant contrast between the two. The terror of LEVIATHAN! LEVIATHAN! And LOVE CRAFT countered with the delicate symphony of LEVITATION TO EDEN or LAST SHIP TO AVALON. Cloud Over Jupiter represents the balance between Horror and Love, and (hopefully) pushes the limits of each, all with the eerie unknowns of outer space and the unknowns of the Future. Will humanity achieve reaching the Eden that we strive for? Or will the future awaken Dark Horrors as we attempt to conquer the depths of Space?

BIG BIG TRAIN – THE LIKES OF US TOUR WARM-UP SHOW ANNOUNCED FOR 16TH SEPTEMBER 2024

Following an acclaimed appearance closing the final Night Of The Prog festival in Germany earlier this month, Big Big Train are pleased to announce a warm-up show to take place on Monday 16th September 2024 at Thornden Hall in Eastleigh, UK to kick off the band’s The Likes Of Us tour.

This tour will promote ‘The Likes Of Us’, the band’s recently released first studio album for InsideOut/Sony, as well as ‘A Flare On The Lens’, a live concert film Blu-ray/3CD/2LP recorded at the band’s shows at the prestigious Cadogan Hall in London, UK last September. ‘A Flare On The Lens’ will be released by InsideOut/Sony on 13th September 2024.

Lead vocalist Alberto Bravin says: “In September 2022, I made my live debut with Big Big Train at Thornden Hall. Almost two years later and with about 30 shows fronting BBT under my belt, I still vividly recall stepping out onto the stage that night and being moved by how warmly the band’s fans welcomed me. As a result Thornden Hall will always be a special venue for me and it’s a lovely, intimate modern theatre.”

Bassist and founder member Gregory Spawton adds: “Since Alberto, our violinist Clare Lindley and keyboardist Oskar Holldorff joined Big Big Train, at our shows over the last two years we have drawn widely on the band’s back catalogue as well as introducing a few songs from ‘The Likes Of Us’. This autumn we will be focusing increasingly on ‘The Likes Of Us’ and also performing some other older songs, one or two of which we haven’t played live before.”

Drummer Nick D’Virgilio comments: “Playing a longer run of shows in the UK and Europe last August and September was such a blast and I’m really looking forward to doing it again this September and October. Last year’s tour gave us the opportunity to mix up the set a little every night so that every show was unique for both ourselves and the fans. We plan to do the same again on this run of shows. We will also have different support bands at most shows on the tour, who we will be announcing next month. Bring it on!”

Tickets for the Thornden Hall show go on sale at 10am UK time on Friday 2nd August via https://bit.ly/THBBT1609. A pre-sale for members of the band’s Passengers Club and 2024 Tour Patrons opens at 10am UK time on Wednesday 31st July.

The ‘A Flare On The Lens’ concert film package includes every song performed by the band over those two evenings last September in London and is available as a Limited 3CD+Blu-ray digipak in slipcase, with the concert film audio mixed in 5.1 surround sound and stereo. A gatefold 180g 2LP vinyl version is also available, which features a carefully selected range of material from the Cadogan Hall shows.

New Refestramus Music Video Side Hustle out Friday

Meet Refestramus’ Main Instrumentalists in New Music Video, “Side Hustle” Stay in touch with Band Muse, the Amazing Agent M!

Refestramus’ new music video “Side Hustle, from the group’s “Intouríst” album, premieres July 12, 2024, at 6 PM CT/4 PM PT/Midnight on Saturday the 13th UK Time. The video introduces the Refestramus’ instrumental members (drummer/composer/wizard Derek Ferguson, guitarist/bassist Derek Pavlic, producer/flute player Ian Beabout, and saxophonist Mitch Lawrence – saxes) and continues exposing the on camera life of the band’s muse, the Amazing Agent Mikrovolnovka!

The song, “Side Hustle” presents a multitude of ententes. Derek notes that as “side hustles” are “little entrepreneurial efforts that people try while they are working their main jobs – hoping to find some way of becoming their own bosses.  Then there’s the phrase ‘ side piece, which I’m told refers to someone with whom someone is having an affair. I think the protagonist of the song is trying to convince the object of their affection – a noble person– to think of an affair not so much as becoming a ‘side piece’ that it’s ‘only’ a ‘side hustle.’”  In the video, it’s Agent M when she’s undercover — first as an accountant and then as a librarian.  Those were her ‘side hustles.”

The song, which originally recorded on Colouratura’s recent album “WTF Was That?!.” Was inspired while Derek was walking his dog, and thinking it was a great piece for his band, Refestramus…. But then he remembered that Colouratura’s Ian Beabout played flute. ” So, the song itself has become a kind of side hustle for me.’”

Watch the music video “Side Hustle” at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwpOMf_vTAs

Prog UK says “Intouríst” is “likeable, uplifting… a home-cooked slice of melody rich prog.” They conclude that “… the smile on its face is infectious.”

Progressor.net calls “Intouríst” a “love letter to the music and spirit of the 1970s” that is “worth a check”

Refestramus.  Named after a word his mother made up to mean “rearrange,” Derek and his producer – Colouratura’s Ian Beabout – liked it because it wasn’t a legitimate word. “A web search will only turn up our band!”

Refestramus was born May 2020 as Derek’s home studio project during the COVID pandemic. Having been in a variety of progressive rock bands in his native Chicago and an avid listener of Ian Beabout’s Internet radio program “Prog Rock Deep Cuts,” he reached out to Ian to mix and master the recordings. Ian, who plays flute and sings on some tracks on Intouríst, introduced Derek to Colouratura bandmates Derek Pavlic and Nathan James, Saxophonist Mitch Lawrence and Wisconsin multi-instrumentalist Jerry King, who plays bass on Intouríst. Adding prog multi-instrumentalist Dave Newhouse, who contributed accordion, helped Derek Ferguson guide the album to completion.

Refestramus’ debut album, “Decoupage,” was released in December 2021. In 2022, Refestramus released the EP, “From the Sublime to the Ridiculous.”
