Deep Purple announce title and release date of their brand-new studio album

“Whoosh!” follows their worldwide chart-topping albums “inFinite” (2017) and “NOW What?!” (2013). After the suspense and speculations among the fan community created by cryptic messages and interviews by singer Ian Gillan during last December, the band finally confirms the release of their 21st studio album on June 12th, 2020 on earMUSIC.

For the third time, Deep Purple join forces with producer Bob Ezrin, who invited the band to Nashville to write and record new songs. Together they created the most versatile album in their collaboration. Deep Purple “stretched out in all directions” without any limitation, letting their creativity go. “Deep Purple is putting the Deep back into Purple” was the half-joking motto in the studio after the first songs made it clear that Ezrin and Purple were on their path to creating an album pushing the boundaries of time while voicing their resentment about the current situation of the world and addressing all generations.

Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Ian Paice, Steve Morse and Don Airey continue to travel the scope of hard rock — the textures and nuances of their recent works are anything but thudding re-treads. If you set a random play setting for the band’s entire catalogue, the result is one of the finest musical outputs to grace rock music. The band’s 20th studio album “inFinite” has become one of their most successful albums ever. It broke chart records accumulated by the hard rock legends over an impressive 50-year history, becoming their highest charting album worldwide since their milestone 1984 reunion album “Perfect Strangers”. It entered the German Official Album Charts at #1, having been awarded Gold for over 100.000 copies sold and, moreover, reached the Top 10 in an impressive number of 10 countries worldwide. It followed the release of “NOW What?!” (2013), which charted at #1 in 5 European countries, the Top 10 in over 15 countries worldwide and earned Gold Status in Germany for over 100.000 copies sold. In recent years, Deep Purple has progressively moved into new areas, piquing the interest of fans who were not born when the mighty Purple machine ruled the music world. Their holy grail of “In Rock” (1970), “Machine Head” (1972) and “Made In Japan” (1973) catapulted Deep Purple to the top in concert grosses and album sales around the world, with tracks such as “Smoke On The Water” ascending them to mega-status.

“When the Deep Purple falls Over sleepy garden walls And the stars begin to twinkle In the night…”
Ian Gillan

“We’ve included everything that made the whole band smile, including Bob Ezrin. We’ve always enjoyed making music and having the incredible luxury of a loyal audience.”
Steve Morse

“I‘ve been asked a lot:
Is this our last album? I remember when we did “Now What?!” which is now what…8 years ago? And then we did “InFinite” or “Infinite” and Don was asked is this the last album? He said: I thought the last album was the last album

Watch the Making of Fish on Friday’s Black Rain

Black Rain is Fish on Friday’s fifth and arguably strongest album to date. On each of the album’s eleven songs, the production is flawless and the songs and arrangements are imaginative and creatively constructed. The band, featuring Nick Beggs, Frank Van Bogaert, Marty Townsend and Marcus Weymaere, sounds tighter and punchier than ever before.

As a response to the positive reactions to Lula Beggs’ vocal contributions to Fish on Friday’s previous album, Quiet Life, Lula was given a bigger guest role on Black Rain, appearing on four of the eleven tracks on the album.

Black Rain may perhaps be seen as a concept album about the fast changing, (for some, way too fast), world that we live in… Our changing environment, refugees fleeing from war, and global political madness. Although the album certainly has its dark sides, there is also room for sun and happiness.

The album is packaged in a beautiful six panel digipack with a sixteen-page booklet designed by Michal Karcz, which truly complements the music to make every aspect of Black Rain a true work of art and an album for our times.

Stream ‘After You’re Gone’ and pre-order/save the album HERE:

ONE DESIRE released their self-titled debut to massive acclaim. With a true hit single, ‘Hurt’ (nearly 2 million views on Youtube, 3 million streams on Spotify) the band found their way to the forefront of the melodic rock scene. A couple of successful European tours with Eclipse and H.E.A.T were followed by more dates and festivals through the end of 2017, before the band headed back to the studio to start work on their sophomore release.

In the works for a little over two years, the resulting album “Midnight Empire” generously repays the long wait the fans have had to suffer for new music from the band. It’s a more mature, at times adventurous, album, but still with an unbelievable hookiness that fans know and love from the debut. This is simply your album of the year if you like, no LOVE Melodic Rock. It’s going to be quite impossible to top this!

PATTERN-SEEKING ANIMALS to release “Prehensile Tales” there highly anticipated follow up to their critically acclaimed debut

In 2019, PATTERN-SEEKING ANIMALS, the California-based band featuring Ted Leonard (lead vocals & guitars), Jimmy Keegan (drums & vocals), Dave Meros (bass) and John Boegehold (keyboards), presented its much-lauded eponymous debut.
Just a year later, the group announces May 15th, 2020 as the release date for its newest opus, “Prehensile Tales”, which expands the stylistic niche carved out by the debut and adds additional twists and turns along the way.

For the six songs on the album (the longest clocking in at over 17 minutes), the band introduced violin, flute, trumpet, cello, sax and pedal steel to the sound palette that was once again recorded & mixed by Rich Mouser at The Mouse House.

“I started writing for the second album right as we were finishing up the first one,” says Boegehold, who is again producing. “I wanted to change around some of the songwriting approaches I’d been using and draw from a few different musical influences while not straying too far from the overall vibe of the band.”

Ted Leonard adds: “This album is another collection of lush arrangements and infectious melodies. I mean REALLY infectious. There are certain lines that are the last thing going through my head at night and the first thing in the morning. I think it’s actually furthering my insanity.”

For the striking cover image, P-SA collaborated with Polish artist Mirek (https://www.facebook.com/mirekis7/), whose ‘An evolutionary broadcast’ design Boegehold immediately considered a perfect fit to the album’s peculiar title.
“Prehensile Tales is a play-on-words I came up with while writing lyrics and thought it would be a funny album title. As a bonus, it actually seems to mean something that fits the music.”

To coincide with the album’s release, the band is set to perform at RosFest 2020 in Sarasota, Florida on May 9th and is lining up more dates later in the year which will be announced soon.

Prehensile Tails Tracklisting:
1. Raining Hard In Heaven
2. Here In My Autumn
3. Elegant Vampires
4. Why Don’t We Run
5. Lifeboat
6. Soon But Not Today
