ARDOURS TO RELEASE DEBUT ALBUM AUGUST 9, 2019 “LAST PLACE ON EARTH” FIRST ALBUM FROM NEW BAND FEATURING MARIANGELA DEMURTAS & KRIS LAURENT FIRST SINGLE & VIDEO, “LAST PLACE ON EARTH” PREMIERED VIA BRAVEWORDS.COM

ARDOURS is a new alternative/gothic metal band formed by Tristania singer Mariangela Demurtas and multi-instrumentalist/producer Kris Laurent. The lineup on the album is rounded out by Mariangela’s fellow Tristania member Tarald Lie on drums, who also wrote the lyrics for the songs. The end result is an exciting and creative album with a fresh sound straddling the lines between rock, metal, and gothic atmospheres with prominent vocal melodies and hooks. In the words of singer Mariangela Demurtas, “[t]he album is a carousel of fatalism, confusion, insight, enlightenment, self-deception, bitterness, loss of faith, apathy, closure, and hope of a new dawn spinning relentlessly towards the looming contours of the end. Or the complete opposite. We definitely like to leave as much free interpretation as possible to the audience.”

About “Last Moment”, Mariangela says, “it is a song about approaching the end. It is actually an optimistic and positive song compared to some others on the album; however, focusing on the notion that something better than this world is waiting, so we can leave life with a radiant hope. In the video we wanted to show our identity in a way that the audience could see how we express ourselves lyrically and musically.”

Fans of The Gathering, Lacuna Coil, latter-era Tiamat, and newer artists like Idle Hands will find much to love hear and should keep their ears open for Ardours.
Ardours have also announced that their first live show will take place on September 7th 2019 at La Cueva Rock in Quartucciu (Cagliari), Italy.

BANCO DEL MUTUO SOCCORSO release new track ‘L’imprevisto’, the third single and video from the new album ‘Transiberiana’

Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, the legendary Italian progressive rock band, recently announced the worldwide signing with Inside Out Music Sony Music group. Their new record ‘Transiberiana’ will be the first studio album in 25 years and is scheduled to be released on May 10th, 2019.

Today the band are pleased to launch their new single ‘L’imprevisto’, and you can listen to it now here:

Vittorio Nocenzi statement :
“At one point, the Siberian cold is so intense that the ice covers the entire track. So it becomes dangerous to move on, it could be derailed. And then the train stops, in the tundra desert. It’s cold and travelers start to be afraid. Lights can be seen outside, it could be a village. Then they start thinking about getting off the train to go and ask for help. The cold increases. xIt is the metaphor of the unpredictable things that change in the course of our existence, fear before what we know is always the first weapon of defense. Instead the unexpected can also give us unexpected positive surprises, if only we were more willing to face diversity, the unusual: any unexpected can build new discoveries and new certainties if we face it with courage and determination. The unexpected is just an opportunity to change. Don’t be afraid of the new road that opens up.

“Among the sounds that characterize this track in particular the “slide guitar” of Filippo, expresses all the yearning for regret that are in the fear that travelers face in front of – nothing that has drowned our days.”

Of the album and signing, founding member Vittorio Nocenzi states: “I’m happy after working such a long time on this new Banco del Mutuo Soccorso album for Inside Out. It fills me with joy and satisfaction as I was truly inspired from the very beginning! For too many years, the band was only dedicated to live performances, so it was about time we would go back to composing, playing and producing new stuff! By choosing the ‘Transiberiana’ concept for this new piece of work, there are two main issues I’d like to point out: first the new Banco line up consisting of great musicians and great people, secondly, the presence of my two sons in the project: Michelangelo co-writing the album and Mario Valerio, who took care of a marketing and communication strategy related to it. These two elements have been the best gifts I could possibly imagine to receive! And this is an extra motivation if ever needed to do my best for reaching our goals.
I can only wish fans will enjoy this incredible project and look forward to see them live when we will go out to perform the album and classic Banco-tracks around the globe with Filippo Marcheggiani (lead guitar), Nicola Di Già (rhythm guitar), Fabio Moresco (drums), Marco Capozi (bass), our singer Tony D’Alessio and myself!”

The last Banco del Mutuo Soccorso album, ‘13’, was released back in 1994 and after all those years and the loss of two historical former members, the band is back to confirm its place in the international progressive music scene.

‘Transiberiana’ will be available as Limited Edition Mediabook CD with 44 page booklet, Gatefold 2LP + CD + LP Booklet, and as digital download.

Banco del Mutuo Soccorso (which translates to “Bank of Mutual Relief”) were formed in Rome, Italy back in 1969 and under the influence of British greats Gentle Giant, Genesis, Jethro Tull and Emerson, Lake & Palmer forged a truly original sound equally complex, melodic and dynamic. In 2019, ‘Transiberiana’ will prove that this style is very much intact and creative mastermind Vittorio Nocenzi promises an “autobiographical journey” lyrically, musically and in terms of concept. ‘Transiberiana’ is not only an impressive new album by Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, but also reflects upon a storied career and redefines what the group is all about.

Five years in the making, “Return to Eden” marks a new return for the legendary ex-Stratovarius guitarist and composer Timo Tolkki. Following a few personal issues which forced him to take a step back from the spotlight, Timo started the writing process for the new album and with the help of the Italian producer Aldo Lonobile (Secret Sphere), completed this outstanding comeback album. A convincing and inspired release, Timo’s hunger to create is stronger than ever. As with previous releases, a slew of heavyweight guest vocalists were brought in to handle lead vocal duties. “Return To Eden” features appearances by renowned Dutch singer Anneke Van Giersbergen (ex-The Gathering), Zak Stevens (ex-Savatage), Todd Michael Hall (Riot V), Mariangela Demurtas (Tristania, Ardours), and Eduard Hovinga (ex-Elegy).

“I would like to say… Tolkki is back!” exclaims Timo. “I feel that this is one of my best works to date and I believe the whole cast of singers and musicians truly went above and beyond the call of duty. We managed to create a really great record. I hope the fans will like it.”

Tolkki has traveled a hard road to get to today, but he is back and more determined than ever to take back his rightful place in the metal scene that he so much deserves after all these years. Listen and believe!

Listen to ‘You Were Chosen To Be Here’

Watch the music video, directed by Max Smith

Good morning everybody! In this time of more division than ever; in this era of abrupt climate change; in this day of deep underlying unease; my friends and I want to offer some art that is meant to reach and bridge from our hearts to yours. This piece above was created for you. We’re all in this together. Without love we have nothing. Without each other we have no one. We were chosen to be here, now, together! Have a listen.

This new and timely collaboration is written and performed with highly acclaimed Indigenous artist-activist and storyteller, Bomgiizhik (Isaac Murdoch), from Serpent River First Nation, and Shannon Paul – a powerful traditional singer from Winnipeg.

These mesmerizing artists have been working together with me on new music and art; This song will be the first step to kickstart a grassroots unity-seeking movement and in developing a collaborative show between them called, “The Heart is at the Centre; De naanaaweying teh”, which will begin traveling across Canada later this year. The title comes from the heart at the centre of Murdoch’s art, and at the centre of my songs.

Love, Matt

PS. I play Winnipeg, at the West End Cultural Centre, next Thursday April 25!

PPS. Germany/Switzerland tour is coming October-November 2019!

Dates will be announced this summer.
