We’re absolutely delighted to be able to reveal the amazing artwork created for us by multi-award-winning British illustrator, author, and musician Martin Springett ( https://martinspringett.com/ ). Martin has beautifully incorporated the Festival’s traditional sun symbol, which has appeared on every RoSFest poster since the very first edition, the newly adopted frigate bird emblem, representing perseverance and strength which reflects our commitment and determination to take the festival into the future, and the personification of Spring bursting forth from a fabulous bloom.
Martin has been an illustrator of fantasy book covers and children’s picture books since 1984, when he illustrated the covers for Guy Gavriel Kay’s classic fantasy trilogy, The Fionavar Tapestry. Martin’s Fionavar covers were published worldwide and are still in print.
He has won the Aurora Award for fantasy illustration, the Ruth Schwartz Award in the children’s picture book field for The Nightwalker, and was nominated for the Governor Generals Award for his illustrations in Richard Thompson’s book, Who. Other book titles featuring Martin’s illustrations include Mei Ming and The Dragon’s Daughter, The Follower, and Too Many Suns.
As a writer, Martin authored and illustrated his first book, Jousting with Jesters in 2006. In 2011, Fitzhenry and Whiteside published his Breakfast on a Dragon’s Tail: And Other Book Biteswhile Kate & Pippin: An Unlikely Friendship (2012), written by Martin and featuring photographs by his sister, Isobel, has won numerous accolades including The Blue Spruce award.
As a musician, Martin recorded his first album in 1969; Under the Mountain is a setting of J R R Tolkien’s poems from Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. As the founding member of The Gardening Club, he has released six albums under that name plus four solo albums.

arly in 2022, Tears For Fears will release The Tipping Point, their first studio album in over 17 years. Furthermore, SDE is pleased to announce that, in collaboration with the band and their record label (Concord Music), we are taking pre-orders (via the SDE shop) for a unique global exclusive deluxe CD edition which features three bonus songs. This will not be available anywhere else (including in Japan and America!).
Seven years in the making, and well into their fifth decade as collaborators and friends, Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith have defied the odds, seen off the doubters, jumped around between record labels, changed management, naval-gazed, almost split up again, ditched the first version of the new album and have come back with a superb 10-track record that embraces the strengths of each band member and most importantly sounds like Tears For Fears!
SDE has heard the whole album and can confirm that The Tipping Point is full of brilliant pop songs that traverse darkness and light and at times chart both personal and global crises. The title track is the first single and you can preview this below.
Roland Orzabal says, “Before everything went so right with this album, everything first had to go wrong, it took years, but something happens when we put our heads together. We’ve got this balance, this push-me-pull-you thing – and it works really well.” Curt Smith agrees, “If that balance doesn’t work on a Tears For Fears album, the whole thing just doesn’t work. To put it in simple terms, a Tears For Fears record and what people perceive to be the sound of Tears For Fears – is the stuff we can both agree on.”
The band had initially started writing the new record with some of today’s hit songwriters (2017’s ‘I Love You But I’m Lost’ was co-written with Bastille’s Dan Smith and Mark Crew) which was an idea suggested by Tears For Fears previous management and what Roland and Curt pithily refer to as “speed dating”. This did not work out. Orzabal explains that “Eventually, that pressure and tension divided us not just from our management, but from one another too”.
But Tears For Fears regrouped and changed their management. The new team subsequently raved about the five songs Roland and Curt could agree on and with new purpose and inspiration they completed the album, which is largely produced by Orzabal, Smith and Charlton Pettus, although producers and songwriters Sacha Skarbek and Florian Reutter contribute to a few songs.
Album highlights include the disarming opener ‘No Small Thing’ which takes the listener on a journey from campfire acoustics to full on TFF widescreen production; the pure pop of ‘Break The Man’; the irresistible stomper that is ‘My Demons’, the plaintive and soulful ‘Rivers of Mercy’ and the rueful ‘End of Nights’. The album closes with ‘Stay’, one of the tracks first included on the Rule The World greatest hits in 2017 (there’s no sign of ‘I Love You But I’m Lost’, the other new song on that compilation).

Naysayer is track Number 4, and the 2nd official promo video from the critically acclaimed debut album New Beginnings by Southern CA, progressive rock band AmuZeum. The band has an impressive pedigree that goes back more than a decade. The five members have crossed paths many times through the years in LA studios and playing in different bands such as Mars Hollow, Ten Jinn, Gabble Ratchet, and Heliopolis, all of which had various degrees of success.
“You don’t have to believe all the noise that’s surrounding you in this world. There are many reasons why “Naysayers” try and hold you back and keep you down. Choose to believe in yourself and not what others may think or say. Every day is a beautiful day

Well, after what seems like an age we finally have some positive Galahad news to share in the form of the rather beautiful LP release of our 1998 ‘Following Ghosts’ album in no less than THREE colors!…..
“Following on from the release of the very expansive ‘Following Ghosts’ 3CD set last year we are now very pleased to announce that, finally after being delayed somewhat by recent world events and in conjunction with our friends at Oskar Production in Poland, the album will be released as a rather lovely double gatefold vinyl LP for the first time ever.
The version on the LP will be Karl Groom’s 2019 mix which was painstakingly put together from the digitized original two-inch 24 track tapes which date back to 1997. This mix has freshened up the original tracks breathing new life into this twenty-four-year-old album.
The ‘Following Ghosts’ LP is available in several versions including a standard black vinyl version, a limited edition gold version (200 copies only), and a very limited orange and red splatter disc version of which only 100 copies have been pressed.
Each LP also contains a CD of ‘Alternative Ghosts’ which contains recently recorded alternative versions of every track from the original album.
We hope to commence shipping albums during the first week of October.
The Following Ghosts LP (in all available colors) can also be ordered from the Polish partner ‘Independent Music Market’ official website: independentmusicmarket.com
We are obviously very happy to ship worldwide but our overseas friends need to be aware that because of global increases in postage and carriage costs in the last couple of years or so the carriage costs are higher than we had hoped but you can rest assured that we will only charge the actual cost of postage and packing (in some cases slightly less!) and not mark it up anyway.”

California-based, Pattern-Seeking Animals, featuring Ted Leonard, Jimmy Keegan, Dave Meros, and John Boegehold, and art-pop trio, Arc Iris, are the latest additions to the festival’s 2022 Easter line-up.
Both acts had originally been billed to play at the canceled 2020 edition of RoSFest; “we know the care and enthusiasm for great live music that George Roldan [festival founder and former director] always put into his line-up choices, so it made sense to try and pick up directly from where he left off and rebook bands who should have played at the Sarasota Opera house back in 2020 but lost out due to the pandemic”, says Board of Director member, Octavia Brown, “something already seen when we announced Lobate Scarp earlier this year”.
P-SA’s appearance at RoSFest is set to be just one in a series of live shows planned (and the first since the band got together in 2018) to support the release of their as yet untitled third studio album. It also represents a second festival performance for Jimmy Keegan, already part of the festival line-up as drummer with Robert Berry’s 3.2.
Pattern-Seeking Animals, the California-based prog band featuring Ted Leonard (lead vocals & guitars), Jimmy Keegan (drums & vocals), Dave Meros (bass), and John Boegehold (keyboards), has been around for less than three years but has already released two well-received albums: the eponymous debut album in 2019 and “Prehensile Tales” in 2020, both on Inside Out Music.
As John explains, “Originally P-SA was intended to be a recording project but as the debut album started coming together, we began talking seriously about doing it as a live band”.
“This music would be a challenge for a four-piece band to pull off live,” says drummer, Jimmy Keegan, “so we’ve enlisted two additional multi-talented musicians to cover all the bases”.
They’re as yet-to-be-titled third album is slated for an early 2022 release and will be supported by the band’s first live shows, including an appearance at RoSFest on Sunday, April 17th.
Arc Iris, on the other hand, will be bringing their own very unique flavor to the festival. Originally the solo project of Jocie Adams, their heavily textured melodies and rhythms will, without doubt, captivate the RoSFest audience.
Arc Iris, the art-pop trio from Los Angeles, successfully combines story-based songs with dense electronic and orchestral arrangements. The group, which started out as the solo project of Jocie Adams (formerly of The Low Anthem) includes keyboardist, sample artist, and frequent Jon Anderson collaborator, Zach Tenorio-Miller, and drummer, Ray Belli.
Arc Iris released its acclaimed self-titled debut in 2014 on ANTI/Bella Union and followed it up in 2016 with “Moon Saloon”, a record that represents a natural progression of the first album’s whimsical explorations and energetic diversity. Produced by the group and mixed by electronic producer David Wrench of FKA Twigs and Jamie xx fame, “Moon Saloon” showcases beat-heavy melodies and textural, groove-riding rhythms. Following the release of their second album, the band toured a complete re-imagination of Joni Mitchell’s ‘Blue’. The band later went on to release their cover version of the classic 1971 album under the name of “Foggy Lullaby” in 2018, a year which also saw the release of their fourth album, “Icon of Ego”. Shortly before the pandemic, the band premiered its most ambitious project to date, “iTMRW: A Sci-Fi Ballet”.
