RIVERSIDE are about to start the next leg of touring in support of their latest album ‘Wasteland’, beginning March 6th for 24 dates in Europe, before heading to North America in May for their biggest tour in the continent to date.

The band comments: “The “Wasteland Tour” promoting our seventh album, “Wasteland”, released in September 2018, has been our greatest turnout success to date. In 2018, we played concerts in many places in Europe. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get everywhere we wanted, and so we’ve decided to continue touring this year and visit the places we haven’t been to on this tour. 06.03.2019, in Prague, we will play the first concert of the 2019 edition of the tour, and it will be the start of our greatest adventure of this year. Norwegian progressive rockers LEPROUS have started recordings for their 6th studio album, expected to be released later in 2019 via InsideOutMusic.
LEPROUS recently entered the studio to record drums and Baard Kolstad checked in with this comment: “We entered the studio to record the drums for half of the album last week with David Castillo @ Ghostward/Fascination Street Studios, same studio as we recorded the 2 latest studio albums. As an over autistic control freak I am when recording myself, this time around I had more time than ever to perfectionise and experiment with my sound almost without compromises, so a big thanks to Einar and David for their patience! We also recorded 1 song together, drums and bass, something neither LEPROUS or I have ever done before. Feeling very good to leave the drum recording for now, focusing on the last half of the album to be recorded in May. I’m so looking forward to hear the outcome just in a few days when the guitarists have put their touch. Will be a different LEPROUS album for sure, but still LEPROUS!”

Boston-based art-rock band Bent Kneeare about to embark on a full European tour alongside label-mates HAKEN, and to celebrate they are launching a brilliant new video for the track ‘Boxes’, taken from their most recent album ‘Land Animal’. Watch the video now here:
The band comment: “When memory becomes tainted, what remains of the self? Boxes focuses on our collective fear of dementia — how we cling to our fading, distorted memories as we age. When filmmaker Brett McLoughlin approached the band about directing a video for the song, we jumped on the chance to bring a visual representation of the track to life. His team did a spectacular job. The result is a haunting, melancholic dreamscape that marries beautifully to the music.”
The European tour with Haken begins this Friday 15th February in Manchester, UK and for this run they are also joined by Danish proggers VOLA. This will mark the Bent Knee’s first visit to many countries and cities, and you can find the full list of dates below.

Bent Knee formed in Boston in 2009 as a democratic collective determined to push the boundaries of pop and rock, combing myriad influences into a seamless, thrilling whole. Lead singer and keyboardist Courtney Swain’s soaring vocals are instantly arresting. Guitarist Ben Levin is one of the most dynamic and versatile guitarists around, shifting between the raging and raucous to the sublime and meditative. Bassist Jessica Kion and drummer Gavin Wallace-Ailsworth combine into an enthralling rhythm section that’s equal parts powerhouse and nuance. Chris Baum’s kinetic violin work provides drama, grace and intrigue. World-class producer and live sound designer Vince Welch weaves it all together with a captivating, expert touch. It is with deep regret and disappointment that I have to announce that I am unable to appear on the ‘Cruise to the Edge’ shows.
A family crisis occurred last week which has necessitated me remaining at home to deal with what are ongoing problems.
The situation is complicated and I can’t elaborate further as they are private family matters but I can say they are too serious to contemplate being away from home for any length of time and especially out of the country. My wife and family need my close support just now and it ’s imperative I am here with them.
This has all come as a great shock to me but I have been left with no other option but to cancel my appearance. I can only apologize to those people who were anticipating our performances and both my band and I are distraught at having to pull out at such a late stage having spent so much time and energy making our own arrangements for the trip.
The decision was agonizing to make but circumstances are out of my control and I have to focus on what is important in my life. My family must always take precedence.

At the end of last year HELHEIM announced the completion of their new album and teased fans with the statement that this was “by far the most intriguing album we’ve done thus far. Expect the unexpected!”. And today the unexpected has arrived, with Dark Essence Records revealing not just the details of HELHEIM’s tenth full-length album, but also the title track “Rignir”, as well details of the band’s first full European tour in several years.

For well over two decades HELHEIM have represented their Norse heritage through their music and their lyrics, with an authenticity and an integrity that is frequently diluted within the so-called “Viking” genres. With “Rignir”, the band again turned to their heritage when writing the poems that form the lyrics for the album, drawing inspiration from the ljóðaháttr, an Old Norse alliterative verse form used largely in the Eddas.
As to the actual subject matter of “Rignir”, which translated means Rain, HELHEIM explain:
This time around we have been very inspired by the local weather of Bergen. The autumn and winter seasons can summon the darkest of feelings within oneself, and this backdrop served as the fertilizer that would germinate the seeds of our lyrical ideas. Exploring the darkness of nature as something that can be seen, as well as sensed, it became a canvas where the pen drew words that rose from the depths of solemnity and alienation. Although each track depicts an ever growing intensity of suffering and loss, there’s still a dialogue on how to maintain some sort of sanity or inner peace.
Let the rain fall heavily upon you.
Once again HELHEIM have recorded the album at the Conclave & Earshot Studios in Bergen, calling on the services of Bjornar E. Nilsen (VULTURE INDUSTRIES, BLACK HOLE GENERATOR) to mix and produce “Rignir” alongside the band, and Herbrand Larsen (ENSLAVED) to handle the mastering.
With a guest appearance by Ole André Farstad playing Lap Steel Guitar on the track “Ísuð”, and with artwork by H’grimnir, tracklisting for “Rignir” is as follows:
