Burgeoning Norwegian Rock outfit LEPROUS return with their sixth and most ambitious studio album entitled “Pitfalls”, to be released on October 25th, 2019 worldwide via InsideOutMusic.
“Pitfalls” was once again recorded with David Castillo at Ghostward Studios (Opeth, Katatonia), but this time mixed by Adam Noble (Placebo, Biffy Clyro, Nothing But Thieves, Deaf Havana). The cover artwork is a painting by Indonesian artist Elicia Edijanto.
The album will be available as limited Mediabook CD with two bonus tracks, as Standard Jewelcase CD and as Gatefold 2LP on 180gr. vinyl (On black vinyl and various limited colored editions) with the album on CD as a bonus and an Etching on the D-Side.

LEPROUS vocalist and keyboardist Einar Solberg checked in with the following comment about the upcoming album: “We’re incredibly proud to announce “Pitfalls”! It’s the album no-one is expecting from Leprous. When you think you know where it’s headed, you’ll realize that you’re wrong. It’s not only by far the biggest production and musical departure we’ve done, but the also most personal and honest. The album has been written through one of my toughest years, where I struggled with depression and anxiety. No filters, no metaphors, just the truth. They say that writing music is therapeutic. but I would say that it’s an understatement. For me “Pitfalls” is the result of 1,5 years of learning how to get through the dark tunnel. The music has been my torch.”

Close to the Rain, Bergen Prog Festival, is back with its third edition. This time in the excellent venue USF Verftet, one of the most renowned venues in Bergen. Verftet is known for hosting concerts with acts such as Devin Townsend, Steven Wilson, Swans, Opeth, Katatonia and Anathema, and is equipped with top of the line PA and acoustic treatment. Being literary by the sea, it is the perfect spot for Close to the Rain. LEPROUS With a calendar filled with sold-out shows in Europe and North America, Leprous is quickly becoming one of the lead acts of the Norwegian prog scene. 2017 saw the release of their 5th studio album “Malina” to critical and public acclaim. OAK Following the release of their second album “False Memory Archive”, OAK has taken a big leap towards the front of the Norwegian prog scene. PANZERPAPPA …have since their formation in 1998 become an institution in the Norwegian prog-rock scene. THE WINDMILL …is a Norwegian progressive rock band formed in 2001 in the outskirts of Oslo. Musically the band can best be described as symphonic neo prog, influenced by several bands from the golden years of the seventies, such as Genesis, Pink Floyd, Camel and others. The debut album “To be continued …” was released May 2010, and the followed up by “The Continuation” in 2013 to great reviews around the world. 5 years later, 2018 saw the birth of “Tribus” to great acclaim from fans and critics. Norwegian progressive rockers LEPROUS have started recordings for their 6th studio album, expected to be released later in 2019 via InsideOutMusic.
LEPROUS recently entered the studio to record drums and Baard Kolstad checked in with this comment: “We entered the studio to record the drums for half of the album last week with David Castillo @ Ghostward/Fascination Street Studios, same studio as we recorded the 2 latest studio albums. As an over autistic control freak I am when recording myself, this time around I had more time than ever to perfectionise and experiment with my sound almost without compromises, so a big thanks to Einar and David for their patience! We also recorded 1 song together, drums and bass, something neither LEPROUS or I have ever done before. Feeling very good to leave the drum recording for now, focusing on the last half of the album to be recorded in May. I’m so looking forward to hear the outcome just in a few days when the guitarists have put their touch. Will be a different LEPROUS album for sure, but still LEPROUS!”

Boston’s Bent Knee play a homecoming show this evening, Thursday, July 19, at The Sinclair. It wraps up a successful tour that found the band traversing the US with tour partners Gatherers throughout June and July.

HAKEN & LEPROUS, two of the most exciting bands in progressive rock today, are pleased to announce they will join forces for a North American co-headline tour in October / November 2018, with InsideOut label-mates BENT KNEE as special guests. These will be the first dates in support of Haken’s recently completed, forthcoming fifth studio album due out later this year.
HAKEN comment: “We’ve been talking about getting out on the road with our good mates Leprous again since our European jaunt with them back in 2014. Both our bands have gone from strength to strength in terms of our live shows since then, and we’re excited to see what they have planned, as well as playing brand new music from our forthcoming album. We’re also stoked to have Bent Knee along with us. It sure to be an epic night of music, don’t miss it!”
Einar Solberg from LEPROUS adds: “So it’s finally happening! I think the request we’ve gotten the most was “Please tour together with Haken!” Almost more often than “Come to Chile!” We actually did a tour together once in the UK back in 2014, and we have wanted to do a more comprehensive tour for a long time, but it just never worked out until now. We’ve been friends with Haken for quite a while, and to tour with them is long overdue. I think this is a great package for most prog fans, as it unites two pretty different approaches to the genre in one evening. And yet, despite our quite different approaches, I know for sure that we share a lot of fans and this package should make for fantastic shows for everyone!”

We can now also announce that our fifth album is now in the can! We always set out to do something a bit different with each album, but this one has surpassed what we had hoped to achieve. It’s been an absolute pleasure working with Adam ‘Nolly’ Getgood on the production and mix and we couldn’t be happier with the results. We can’t wait for everybody to hear it!”
