And so, the accidental band are back. Originally destined to be Matt Stevens’ second solo album, TFATD have morphed into possibly the most important instrumental rock act in the UK today. Comprising Matt (guitar, synth, piano), Kev Feazey (bass, programming, synth, percussion), Steve Cleaton (guitar, piano) and Stuart Marshall (drums, percussion) they have gained an amazing following (The Fierce Army) over the last few years, due in no small part to be a great live act who have found new fans wherever they have played. They can often be found playing with their mates Hawkwind, and gained huge kudos from their gig last year with Monkey3 at The Borderline.
Here they are back with their third studio album, which follows on from 2013’s ‘Spooky Action’ (they released the live ‘Field Recordings’ last year). It is incredibly hard to categorise their sound as it comprises elements from post rock, math rock, space, rock, prog and hard rock all thrown into a metallic melting pot. There are times when it feels that the band are just bouncing ideas off each other in the studio, jamming live, when at others it feels slightly more structured but whatever they are doing it always contains a mighty groove that makes the listener to move along to the music. Due to the small matter of geography I have never seen the guys play (they formed four years after I moved to the other side of the world), which I know is very much my loss, as while this is a great album I know that in concert it will be turned into something that is quite another level.
TFATD have stayed true to their roots to this album, and that the mainstream is starting to embrace them has far more to do with the rest of the world coming to grips with how good they are as opposed any “selling out”. This is an incredibly easy album to listen to, although with the distorted riffs sweeping through my brain I could never call them easy listening. This could well be the album that breaks them through to the big time, and it will be richly deserved. If you haven’t come across them before this, now is the time.
US progressive rock band, Traverser, is confirmed to appear at ROSFest 2019.
Traverser was formed back in 2005 and has two albums to their name at the time of writing with “Redshift” from 2014 as their most recent production. At this point, the band is active in the studio preparing material for their third studio album. Traverser has built themselves a name and a reputation for being active in the live circuit and have a reasonably high degree of success as an independent band. Their second album has sold 1000 physical copies which is quite a lot for a non-label band in this era of streaming and digital sales. Musically, they belong on the harder side of the modern progressive rock landscape citing bands such as Porcupine Tree, Tool and Protest the Hero among the cited sources of inspiration. Or, as the band describes themselves; “A unique mix of progressive, alternative rock and metal”.
We were lucky to find Traverser among a long list of Florida bands as their music appealed to us on such a high level, we knew we had to sign this band for the 2019 edition of RoSfest. This is a band that hadn’t been on our radar previously and we look forward to sharing their music with our RoSfest audience. They are a seasoned live band with strong, quality music, which will prove to be a very pleasant surprise for many of our regular festival attendees.
RoSfest 2019 will take place on May 3rd through 5th, 2019 at the Sarasota Opera House, Florida. The final line-up and schedule for the festival is still TBA. Confirmed bands to appear so far are: Riverside (headliner), Karmamoi, and Traverser.

Months ago, our guitar player Fausto De Bellis decided to quit the band for personal reasons.
Today, after careful considerations, we’re proud to announce the name of our new guitar guy: MICHELE DI LAURO.
Michele is a great musician (check him out with his other band Minraud) but most of all he is a long-time friend, a special person with a unique energy that will surely make a difference. We are honored he accepted our proposal to join the band and we can’t wait to share with you something new with him on guitars.
Michele’s entrance is the first step of a new path that will lead us to our next full-length release and back to intense live activity.
We will update you over the next days about this, and we will try to amaze you with some more surprises from “Into the silence I sink”, a record we want to be heard again with the addition of some interesting details, according to our vision.
Stay tuned!

ITA:
