California Guitar Trio release new video from the upcoming album In A Landscape

Dear friends,
We are excited to release a new video (click on the image above) of California Guitar Trio playing the classic Melrose Avenue. The video was filmed in Hollywood and features the original Bert Lams house where CGT was formed in 1991, composed Melrose Ave and recorded the first CGT album. Video by tourbuslive.com

Album cover photography by Paul RichardsFirst collaborative studio release by revered guitar trios delivers unique arrangements of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” and Radiohead’s “Weird Fishes,” and dynamic originals.
The album’s original works showcase the wide range of the sextet. “New Horizons” kicks off the release and builds up from an initial pulse into a beautiful, complex, percussive arrangement. “Magneto” is a kinetic, mercurial piece full of addictive riffs and flurries. “Fortune Island” features complex, engaging rhythms and time signatures, as well as inventive processed sounds. Minimalism meets shifting melodies on “Glass Tango.” The beautiful, lilting “First Steps” rounds out the recording’s new compositions. –  Anil Prasad

We recorded “In a Landscape” in a small historic church on a lake about 1 hour north of Montreal in Gore Quebec.

Djam Karet release the first video Beyond The Frontier from upcoming album A Sky Full Of Stars For A Roof

Djam Karet has just finished recording their 19th album, titled “A Sky Full of Stars for a Roof”. No specific release date has been set but plans tentatively the band are thinking about a possible April 2019.

The first video from the album is Beyond The Frontier

The group was formed back in 1984, and this is a celebration of the band’s 35 years together. Featuring all four original members of the group, this is their most melodic and acoustic album so far.

About the album
Combining analog and modular synthesizers with numerous acoustic instruments from around the world, Djam Karet is exploring new territory on this psychedelic journey of discovery. Harmonium, dilruba, mbira, udu and other exotic instruments, help bring a warm vibe to this highly melodic and visionary work. Swirling electronic soundscapes expand to reveal new acoustic environments of exotic goodness. In order to maintain a more lively and dynamic sound, no compression was used in the mixing of this album. Featured guest musicians include Willie Nelson’s son Micah Nelson (from Neil Young’s band) on charango, Todd Montgomery (Fernwood) on sitar, Mark Cook (Herd Of Instinct) on fretless guitar and bass, and Shannon Michael Terry (Primal Future Now) on mbira. With a sound that is a blend of West Coast Psychedelic music, UK Canterbury, and 1970’s Progressive music … this new album is sure to become a fan favorite!

Lonely Robot – launch ‘Ancient Ascendant’ video; first track taken from new album ‘Under Stars’

Lonely Robot, the project masterminded by producer, guitarist and singer/songwriter John Mitchell (Kino, Frost*, Arena, It Bites), recently announced the release of ‘Under Stars’ for April 26th, 2019.

Today sees the launch of the first track taken from the album, and you can watch the video for ‘Ancient Ascendant’ here:

John comments: “Ancient ascendant is a wry poke at and indeed musical equivalent of the famous ‘evolution of man’ picture. We may be evolutionary but we seem to be walking backwards into the swampy quagmire of a synthesized society. Maybe we can learn something from the simpler times and customs of our ancestors even if we can’t learn from their history. This was the first song I recorded for Under Stars and I had a ball recording it!”

The album once again features drums by long-time collaborator Craig Blundell (Steven Wilson), plus bass contributions from Steve Vantsis (Fish), with all other instrumentation on the album delivered by Mitchell himself.

Of the record, John comments: “It is the final part in the astronaut trilogy, and was recorded over an intensive month and a half period. This time I wanted to reference my love of 80’s synthwave pop a little more, so beware the 808! The title is derived from belief that we as humans spend far too much time not noticing the beauty around us and far too much time tethered to technology.”

‘Under Stars’ will be released as a limited edition digipak CD (featuring 3 bonus tracks), gatefold 2LP + CD & as digital album. Pre-order now here: www.insideoutmusicshop.com

The track-listing is as follows:1.Terminal Earth2.Ancient Ascendant3.Icarus4.Under Stars5.Authorship Of Our Lives6.The Signal7.The Only Time I Don’t Belong Is Now8.When Gravity Fails9.How Bright Is The Sun?10.Inside This Machine11.An Ending12.How Bright Is The Sun? (Cosmic Mix)* CD / digital bonus track13.Under Stars (Cosmic Mix)* CD / digital bonus track14.Lonely Robot – Chapter One – Airlock* CD / digital bonus track
‘Under Stars’ is the final album in a trilogy for Lonely Robot, John Mitchell’s visionary project. This began in 2015 with the ‘Please Come Home’ album and continued two years later with ”The Big Dream’.
“I always saw this as a trilogy, and it feels like the third part of the Lonely Robot master plan has reached a natural conclusion.”

As with the two previous albums, there is a theme running across the songs here, as Mitchell explains. “On ‘Please Come Home’, the theme was about the idea that life on Earth didn’t originate from this planet, while for ‘The Big Dream’, I was really giving everyone the benefit of Zen musings according to John Mitchell. This time things are a little more down to earth. What I am doing is looking the millennial generation, and the fact that kids today are so tied to their phones and to technology. They really have no clue what is actually going on around them, and I find that worrying.”

John Mitchell is a man with a rich musical heritage and history – from musician and vocalist, to songwriter and producer. With bands like Arena, Frost*, Kino, It Bites and Lonely Robot, to name but a few, Mitchell has left his mark on the current progressive rock scene and has been involved in dozens of recordings. He is also a respected producer & mixer, running Outhouse Studios in the UK and working with artists as diverse as You Me At Six, Enter Shikari, Alter Bridge, Asia, Don Broco, Funeral For A Friend, McFly & much more.

THE MUTE GODS – launch new single ‘One Day’, featuring Alex Lifeson of Rush

The Mute Gods, featuring Nick Beggs (Steven Wilson, Steve Hackett), Roger King (Steve Hackett) & Marco Minnemann (The Aristocrats, The Sea Within), are set to release their third studio album ‘Atheists and Believers’ for March 22nd, 2019.

Today they launch a video for the track ‘One Day’, which features Alex Lifeson of Rush as guest, and you can watch the clip here:

Nick comments: “Possibly my favourite Mute Gods song so far? I hope you enjoy it to. If not, Jog on.”

Watch Nick & Roger sit down to discuss the new album over a pint at the pub in these two new interview clips.

Part 2: https://youtu.be/6DDgFsSKjBY

Listen to the album’s title track here: https://youtu.be/yCMGNS9XmuE

‘Atheists and Believers’ is featured as the lead review in the latest issue of Prog Magazine where they comment that the band “make the incredible sound accessible”.

Arriving just over 2 years after its predecessor ‘Tardigrades Will Inherit The Earth’, Beggs once again turns his attention to the state of the world as we know it now, focussing on universal topics such as politics, humanity & love over the course of 10 tracks that run from turbulent rock compositions to more sentimental pieces of music.

Nick comments: “The album’s key message is that we now empower stupid people and don’t listen to educated, informed experts anymore because truth is no longer fashionable.”

For ‘Atheists and Believers’, Beggs has enlisted some very special guests, including Alex Lifeson, Rush’s legendary guitarist; Craig Blundell, renowned drummer currently playing with Steven Wilson’s band; multi-instrumentalist Rob Townsend with whom Beggs worked in Steve Hackett’s band and his vocalist daughter, Lula Beggs.

‘Atheists and Believers’ will be released on Limited CD Digipak, Gatefold 180g 2LP + CD & as a digital album. Pre-order now here: www.insideoutmusicshop.com

The Mute Gods is the musical vehicle Beggs created in 2015 to channel his song writing. It was conceived while he was embarking on an intensive period of almost continuous touring, firstly with former Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett and then latterly, Steven Wilson, the prolific, widely-acclaimed composer, musician and record producer with whom Beggs still records and tours.

Beggs’ career spans nearly four decades, working with artists across a broad musical spectrum. Bassist, stick player, composer and vocalist, Beggs has sold more than three million records with his own groups, including Kajagoogoo, as well as contributing to genres such as pop, rock, funk, soul, Celtic and latterly, progressive rock.

Among the artists with whom he has collaborated are rock and pop legends John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin), Belinda Carlisle, Kim Wilde, Gary Numan, Seal and Engelbert Humperdink, as well as progressive rock’s Steve Howe, Rick Wakeman, Iona and Lifesigns.

Alongside Beggs in The Mute Gods are his regular collaborators Roger King and Marco Minnemann. King is the keyboards player, guitarist and producer of Atheists and Believers, and Steve Hackett’s right-hand man for more than 20 years. Minneman, who has also played with Joe Satriani, is regarded as one of rock’s most exciting drummers and has worked with Beggs on Wilson tours and recordings.

BANCO DEL MUTUO SOCCORSO – Launch Video & Single for “I ruderi del gulag”

First single from highly-anticipated new album ‘Transiberiana’

Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, the legendary Italian progressive rock band, recently announced the worldwide signing with Inside Out Music Sony Music group. Their new record ‘Transiberiana’ will be the first studio album in 25 years and is scheduled to be released on May 10th, 2019.

Today they launch the much-anticipated first single from the album, titled ‘I ruderi del gulag’, and you can watch the video now here:

A sophisticated and conceptual piece, composed by Vittorio Nocenzi with his son Michelangelo Nocenzi. Lyrics were written by Nocenzi himself together with Paolo Logli, a writer and screenwriter very close to Banco since the 1970s.

‘I ruderi del gulag’ tells of a meeting between people who are making a journey through wonder and amazement, with the soul open to accepting diversity, and find instead a place where diversity has been repressed and persecuted as dangerous and contrary.

Of the album and signing, founding member Vittorio Nocenzi states: “I’m happy after working such a long time on this new Banco del Mutuo Soccorso album for Inside Out. It fills me with joy and satisfaction as I was truly inspired from the very beginning! For too many years, the band was only dedicated to live performances, so it was about time we would go back to composing, playing and producing new stuff! By choosing the ‘Transiberiana’ concept for this new piece of work, there are two main issues I’d like to point out: first the new Banco line up consisting of great musicians and great people, secondly, the presence of my two sons in the project: Michelangelo co-writing the album and Mario Valerio, who took care of a marketing and communication strategy related to it. These two elements have been the best gifts I could possibly imagine to receive! And this is an extra motivation if ever needed to do my best for reaching our goals.
I can only wish fans will enjoy this incredible project and look forward to see them live when we will go out to perform the album and classic Banco-tracks around the globe with Filippo Marcheggiani (lead guitar), Nicola Di Già (rhythm guitar), Fabio Moresco (drums), Marco Capozi (bass), our singer Tony D’Alessio and myself!”

The last Banco del Mutuo Soccorso album, ‘13’, was released back in 1994 and after all those years and the loss of two historical former members, the band is back to confirm its place in the international progressive music scene.

‘Transiberiana’ will be available as Limited Edition Mediabook CD with 44 page booklet, Gatefold 2LP + CD + LP Booklet, and as digital download.

Banco del Mutuo Soccorso (which translates to “Bank of Mutual Relief”) were formed in Rome, Italy back in 1969 and under the influence of British greats Gentle Giant, Genesis, Jethro Tull and Emerson, Lake & Palmer forged a truly original sound equally complex, melodic and dynamic. In 2019, ‘Transiberiana’ will prove that this style is very much intact and creative mastermind Vittorio Nocenzi promises an “autobiographical journey” lyrically, musically and in terms of concept. ‘Transiberiana’ is not only an impressive new album by Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, but also reflects upon a storied career and redefines what the group is all about.

Banco del Mutuo Soccorso is:
Vittorio Nocenzi (piano, keyboards and voice)
Filippo Marcheggiani (guitar)
Nicola Di Già (rhythm guitar)
Marco Capozi (bass)
