Capturing the angst of the 21st Century with Karen Langley’s sharply observed lyrics, laced with the manically haunting guitars of Rob Williams and Jon Sharp on drums (plus guest musicians), BABAL delivers a thought-provoking, barbed performance that defies categorization.
BABAL reveal a dystopian, offbeat view of life; their cinematic, psych/art-rock approach calls up comparisons with Talking Heads, Zappa, Beefheart, Hendrix, Primus, Bent Knee, and Patti Smith among many.
The band has gathered great responses around the UK and Europe and has also played live soundtracks for Alternative Cinema presentations.

This is a wonderful amalgamation of progressive rock mixed well with Frank Zappa – like experimentation. Progressive Rock Central
Karen, Rob, and Jon have yet again delivered something out of the norm and very special indeed. Kev Rowland – Prog Archives
BABAL offers you more than a record, it’s a journey without any barriers or musical boundaries. Wil – Chronicle
Babal easily switch between dark, light, gray, and dazzling. The band moves seamlessly through improvisation, taut precision, poetic fusion, political satire, eccentricity, and authentic raw power. Anne-Claire -Mazik
If you want a piece of music to play in the background to a dinner party, then you have come to the wrong place. But, if you want to sit down for an hour and be taken on a magic carpet ride through our fragile existence, with humour, sarcasm, and understanding. If you like great guitar, bass and drums all working together, so tight, you will think it is all the same person. If you like colour and light and meaning, then this is a must have…. Chris Gill – Band of Rain
About Who will I be when I leave?
BABAL has many carriages, and there are many stops along the way; sometimes the train is just too crowded and we have to get off and have a station break; a breather, while we wait for the next connection.
We never opt for the straight-through – it always speeds past, sending clouds of dust and screeching metal particles over us as we sit patiently on the bench, anticipating the arrival of the mystery train that will send us happily on our way, toward the next strange town of tunes. What wonderful places we visit, and are still visiting!
“Who Will I Be When I Leave?” takes us to some eccentric station stops on a network of infrequently used branch lines and complex intersections. Take the BABAL ticket once more, and sit back for the Corkscrew Ride…. we can’t guarantee a return trip; just taking the journey is the goal. X Karen Langley 2022

Today, Brown is proud to share another song from the album, the psychedelic opener to the album “Lucifer Sam,” penned by none other than Syd Barrett and featuring ripping performances by Gong guitarist Steve Hillage and Deep Purple drummer Ian Paice. As Martin Springett says ‘I am so fortunate to work with two brilliant musicians/producers in Kevin Laliberte and Norm Macpherson. I have wide musical interests and don’t care to be hemmed in by labels or listener expectations. With Kevin and Norm, I can travel to new and unexpected ports of call, and to many different musical worlds. A Bridge of Spirits connects them all.’

On Friday, August 26th the rock band Evership publishes the third and final single from their upcoming conclusion to the Rock Opera The Uncrowned King! The Law of Ages highlights the subtle and powerful range of vocalist Beau West and the classical influence of Shane Atkinson’s compositional prowess. Introspective and powerful, with notes as varied as Coldplay, The Scorpions, Kansas, and Queen, this single is a good power ballad suitable for modern, classic, acoustic, and progressive rock programs. A music video for The Law of Ages will be released on Sept.14th. The Uncrowned King – Act 2 will be released on October 14th.
About this Song In this part of the rock opera, the wrongful king, the younger twin prince, has been crowned, leaving the rightful heir hopeless, until he meets Wisdom. The message here is when unjust life situations create uncertainties that are of such a scope as to be beyond our control, Wisdom encourages us to be patient and not reactive and comforts us with the knowledge that ill-gotten gain is temporal and truth, eventually, will be known.
About Evership Rock band Evership is the conceptualization of composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer/engineer Shane Atkinson, along with lead vocalist Beau West. Few recent acts have made a bigger splash than Evership in the world of modern art/progressive or symphonic rock. Their impactful 2016 self-titled album catapulted them to the forefront of the rock world. This led to main-stage performances at the largest of US Art/Prog rock festivals RoSFest and ProgStock and over 50 glowing national and international reviews and interviews. Each successive album has been honored in the yearly “Best of’s” by critical reviewers. The response to The Uncrowned King – Act 1 was astounding. Highland (Issue #108) hails Evership as “firmly establishing themselves in the Progressive American Landscape” and UK’s ProgRadar sites “Evership is the new face of American Prog”.
From 2002 to 2015, NEMO have been one of the leading Prog Rock bands in France. In 15 years of existence they conquered the world community of Prog lovers with their nine studio albums.
Supported by the international progressive press, self distributed worldwide with internet networks and a high-performance webshop (www.quadrifonic.com), the band has been booked by big festivals in Europe and in the USA.
Nemo has in particular shared the stage with: Focus, Adagio, The Flower Kings, 3, Anglagard, Galahad, Carptree, Pat McManus band, Fish, Vanden Plas, Saga…
In 2015, after the extremely well received album “Coma”, they decided to take a break of indefinite duration. This new recording of their debut album is not a comeback, but a way to thank the fans and to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the record.
New totally re-recorded version of NEMO’s first album, by the band’s most classic lineup (Jean Baptiste Itier, Lionel B. Guichard, Guillaume Fontaine and JP Louveton). The band, in a prolonged dormancy since 2015, recorded from a distance, and the result gives a huge added value to these tracks that have not aged a bit.
“We are going to tell you a story, an extraordinary story. A story of exploits and discoveries. A story of challenges and progress. We are going to tell you the story of these men who moved the world forward, who pushed back the barriers of the impossible. In these stories, the visionary spirit is at the service of the imagination, and the imagination is an accomplice of progress. The characters we’re about to show you, straight out of fiction, have ignited science and reformed the world…”

Canada’s Hunting Giants are proud to announce their new record “Mythos”, a progressive, high-caliber album that will grab listeners and amaze them with intricate woven stories, energetic riffs, and distinctive vocals. Their first presentation from the new offering will be the single “Ancient Text” and its music video.
The single is a story about a doomsday prophecy from a long-forgotten culture. While lyrically referencing both archaeological discoveries as well as age-old myths, the listener gets to experience how a shaman from the distant past might interpret a meteor shower that destroys his tribe. The band explains further:
“Ancient Text weaves an auditory puzzle in the ear of the listener while it tells the tale. It was inspired by the Taurid meteor stream, a stretch of space densely packed with astral debris which the Earth passes through twice a year, as well as the unknown catalyst which initiated the previous ice age 12,500 years ago. This adrenaline-pumping track plays host to a soft and sensual breakdown where our shamanic protagonist bears witness to the coming end of days.”
Referencing both scientific discovery and age-old myth, “Ancient Text” is a wild ride that maintains engagement and leaves one breathless. Full of tension, and raging riffs, Hunting Giants ends the song with a rhythmic labyrinth of guitar, bass, and percussion framing the climax of their tale.
Hunting Giants is confident that new listeners, as well as those familiar with them through their previous release “Skyward Eyes”, will find an accomplished intensity and listenability in “Mythos”,which represents their musical growth and evolution. Each of the thirteen songs was specially picked for the album to contribute to the overarching story in a theatrical and energetic manner.
With riffs that will inspire and lyrics that will mystify, Hunting Giants is recommended for those who enjoy a 90s vibe and progressive elements, especially fans of Alice In Chains, Soundgarden and Audioslave.
The music video for the first single “Ancient Text” can be seen and heard via its premiere on Spaceuntravel at https://youtu.be/NkEQ6m8bzx4
Hunting Giants was started in 2017 with Bradley Trivett assembling the first musical themes and combining the percussive expertise of Daniel Beavington with the explosive rhythmic prowess of Corey J. Wharton into the foundation of a team set to discover and dominate the most enormous sounds and daunting massive ideas they could find. Led by the visionary passion and styling of frontman Stephen Atkey, Hunting Giants is poised to deliver an incredible auditory and visual experience.
“Hunting Giants stake their claim as a powerful new force in the Pacific Northwest metal scene…this band is absolutely one you’ll want to keep an eye on.” – Wail Magazine
