Captain Of The Lost Waves releases Animals On An Island Music Video

Captain Of The Lost Waves releases his third video Animals On An Island from Hidden Gems Chapter 3 – Mysterium Tremendum

The video was filmed on location of the majestic wilderness of Pule Hill in the wild wild west of Yorkshire. In trying to mirror the ethos of the song, “I trust the sense of beautiful desolation and space evokes the same feeling we had in making this.”

About Captain Of The Lost Waves

The Captain is a troubadour, storyteller and free thinking renegade.  His musical offerings are inspired by the great songwriters and philosophers of yesteryear.  This is visceral music for the mind and body, full of dreamy verses, life affirming choruses and sheer audacity. Where melodic invention meets alternative folk, progressive, world and ambient sounds.

He is not just the figurehead of his musical vessel, he’s ringmaster, bard, master of ceremonies and sage. There’s far more to him and his absurdly engaging world than any of your ten – a – penny musical stars. Seen through showers of glitter, kaleidoscopic lens flares and in the rainbows of a million puddles. The Captain tells sonic stories to connect with everyone past, present and future.

Ascher Releases First Single The Great Divide from their Debut Album Beginnings and Accompanying Music Video

Christian Progressive Rock From Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

Newcomers, Ascher, premiered their video, ‘The Great Divide’, to promote the first single from their upcoming debut album, Beginnings, today. The performance video was edited in black and white and features the members of Ascher interspersed with several anonymous clips that help convery the message of the song.

The Great Divide was written by Doug Bowers to convey feelings he had concerning friendships ‘lost along the way’. The lyric, “Time is not the enemy – Does not provide the wait-and-see” is the writer’s way of saying that that the passage of time time cannot be blamed for the loss of a friendship and it doesn’t necessarily heal all wounds. It is up to the individual to keep relationships alive. The song came about late in the writing sessions for the album, ‘Beginnings’, and each band member’s contributions during the recording sessions made the song the standout piece that it is.

‘The Great Divide’ is currently available as a digital download at Ascher’s Bandcamp site. The page also contains the song’s lyrics. Vocals and lead guitars were recorded remotely by Kyle Graves and Rob Perez respectively with the bulk of the song recorded at Berwood South in Fort Walton Beach by Doug Bowers. The song was mixed and mastered by Doug Bowers at Berwood South.

The Great Divide is the first single from the album, Beginnings.

THE GREAT DIVIDE LYRICS

Here in the shadows of a self-made reality, the product of all I have known
Built from assurance that the life out in front of me was all that my mind’s eye was shown

Here, now, we never thought to figure in the how
Gaze, smile, this moment will be gone in just a while, just a while

Reaching for promise while lost in the innocence of youthful dreams so far, so neatly placed
No thought of the notion that a hat tip to common sense might help ease the future that I faced

Youth, haste, too much to do to let time go to waste
Friends lost, in moving on I didn’t count the cost

Time is not the enemy, does not provide the wait and see
We all must face the truth to heal our wounds
The great divide will only grow if left unchecked the seeds we sew
Will bind us

Left to my thoughts and consumed by the arrogance of a life well lived, the product of my goals
Behind me the paths that might have been my inheritance, untrod, my unfulfilling roles

Truth, lies, the compass I create I will despise
Give, take, the moment won’t exist for its own sake

Time is not the enemy, does not provide the wait and see
We all must face the truth to heal our wounds
The great divide will only grow if left unchecked the seeds we sew
Will bind us

A message from a long-lost friend arrived yesterday
In it, I heard faint echoes from my past
The great divide with no amend had led us astray
If only time could make that friendship last

But, time is not the enemy, does not provide the wait and see
We all must face the truth to heal our wounds
The great divide will only grow if left unchecked the seeds we sew
Will yield the vines that grow, surround, and bind us

A powerful Prog-Rock album that offers something different from the norm.”

The two long-time collaborators met in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in 2005 and have been working together ever since. Originally brought together to work on Simon’s solo career, the spark of creativity between Simon and Kelly was undeniable. They soon began writing original material together, much of which would end up on Dimensionaut.

With a successful progressive rock album under their belts, Simon and Kelly were determined to continue the work they started with Sound of Contact. During the UK production of Simon’s 4th solo album “Becoming Human”, Kelly recorded a demo of the song “eMolecule” in a flurry of inspiration. With this new offering, Simon and Kelly decided their way forward was as a duo and they would pool their best material under the name eMolecule.

In the summer of 2020, Emolecule decided it was time to begin work on their debut album and that it was to be a concept album. Meeting in person at Simon’s studio in Ireland, the duo spent a solid month writing the concept and music start to finish. Over the following months, they completed writing, producing and performing ‘The Architect’ both remotely and together in Ireland.

The Architect features intense, heavy guitar and drum performances as well as deep, atmospheric and emotionally driven arrangements. From start to finish, Emolecule’s first offering captivates the listener with infectious vocals, dynamic guitars and ultra-modern production from the epic opening track ‘eMolecule” to the powerful climax of the closing track “Moment of Truth”. This band and album are set to take the listener to another dimension.

Temple of Switches – Freon Suitcase – Featured Video

“This music is not meant to be listened to on a telephone.” Heed those words, which come at the end of the liner notes for Four, the fourth album from California’s Temple of Switches. This is mysterious, majestic music that deserves to be played through the loudest speakers you can find.” – Michael Popke, Sea of Tranquility

The name Temple of Switches was coined in 2012 by Tenk Van Dool. Temple of Switches is an independent band and the creative outlet for producer and musician Van Dool.

The band is comprised of a group of musicians that have been friends since the late 1970s (Kevin McConnell and David White) as well as other talented guest musicians from outside the group (Clara Hembree and Craig Camp from the band Circle of Dominion, Gaetano Nicolosi from Iron Horse, Amanda Lehmann from Steve Hackett’s band).

Their music is dark, contemplative, dissonant, melancholy, heavy, sarcastic, and unrestrained. Their studio recordings tend to be edgy and dynamic. Their compositions draw from jazz influences while retaining an element of heaviness and adrenaline. Their last two consecutive albums have earned them “Featured artist of the month” on progrock.com.

The latest release entitled “IV” has earned them excellent reviews from Prog Archives and Sea of Tranquility among others, and the song “The Unfurling” is in the running for best composition for 2021 on Friday Night Progressives Indie Prog Awards. The haunting song “The Wind” features Amanda Lehmann on vocals.

Evership – The Law of Ages Official Video

About this Song
In this part of the rock opera, the wrongful king, the younger twin prince, has been crowned, leaving the rightful heir hopeless, until he meets Wisdom. The message here is when unjust life situations create uncertainties that are of such a scope as to be beyond our control, Wisdom encourages us to be patient and not reactive and comforts us with the knowledge that ill-gotten gain is temporal and truth, eventually, will be known.

The Law of Ages highlights the subtle and powerful range of vocalist Beau West and the classical influence of Shane Atkinson’s compositional prowess. Introspective and powerful, with notes as varied as Coldplay, The Scorpions, Kansas, and Queen, this single is a good power ballad suitable for modern, classic, acoustic, and progressive rock programs.

The Uncrowned King – Act 2 will be released on October 14th.

About Evership
Rock band Evership is the conceptualization of composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer/engineer Shane Atkinson, along with lead vocalist Beau West. Few recent acts have made a bigger splash than Evership in the world of modern art/progressive or symphonic rock. Their impactful 2016 self-titled album catapulted them to the forefront of the rock world. This led to main-stage performances at the largest of US Art/Prog rock festivals RoSFest and ProgStock and over 50 glowing national and international reviews and interviews. Each successive album has been honored in the yearly “Best of’s” by critical reviewers. The response to The Uncrowned King – Act 1 was astounding. Highland (Issue #108) hails Evership as “firmly establishing themselves in the Progressive American Landscape” and UK’s ProgRadar sites “Evership is the new face of American Prog”.
