Chilean Prog Ensemble Aisles Premieres New Video “Shallow and Daft”

Chilean Prog ensemble Aisles, South America’s most acclaimed prog band of the last 10 years, is premiering the second video of their “Live from Estudio del Sur” sessions, for the song “Shallow and Daft”, which was originally released on the album “4:45 AM” (2013). The clip was directed by Bernardo Quesney, who has worked with artists like Gepe and Javiera Mena.

Pure Grain Audio has premiered Aisles new video for “Shallow and Daft”:http://puregrainaudio.com/videos/aisles-take-aim-at-the-shallow-and-daft-in-new-in-studio-playthrough-exclusive-premiere

Says Aisles guitarist, German Vergara, “Shallow and Daft is a song with a strong criticism to the logic behind the mass entertainment industry. We wanted to be deliberately ironic and the original version had a notoriously ’80s pop sound. When we decided to release this series of videos we thought we could make it more current with a modern, fresher sound. Additionally, we wanted to include a feminine touch so we invited the talented singer Catalina Blanco from the rock band Tephiret. We kept the message but presented it in a new form”.

The “Live from Estudio del Sur” sessions started with the video for the song ‘Clouds Motion’, and it will continue with more videos coming soon.

With four studio albums and a career spanning twelve years, Aisles have become South America’s most acclaimed prog act of the last decade. Their daring combination of rock, fusion, jazz and world music illustrates the band’s uniquely eclectic approach. The group has played in South America and Europe, and their albums have been released in Europe, the Americas, and Japan.

In 2009 their second album “In Sudden Walks” was nominated for Best Foreign Record in the Italian Prog Awards and the group was invited to open the 11th Progressive Rock Festival Crescendo in France. Their third album, “4:45 AM” (2013) was widely acclaimed worldwide and was chosen among the best albums of that year in a number of specialized publications. “Hawaii” (July, 2016), their fourth studio album was called a “masterpiece” and named one of the albums of the year by media outlets such as Prog (England), Neoprog (France), Raw Ramp (England) and Chile’s premiere rock magazine, Rockaxis.

New Joe Deninzon & Stratospheerius Video ‘BEHIND THE CURTAIN’ (Exclusive World Premiere)

We are thrilled to announce the World Premiere of “Behind the Curtin” by Joe Deninzon & Stratospheerius, the video will be available exclusively on Power of Prog between Jan 2nd and Jan 4th after which it will be available worldwide via YouTube Staring Monday, February 5th.

Joe says, “The song is about the rise and downfall of celebrity and the primal fascination we have in building someone up and tearing them down, watching someone suffer. We love to chastise someone while we ourselves often lead double lives, hiding all kinds of skeletons in our closets while pretending we are faultless.”

“Behind the Curtain” features actor Max McGuire “Star-Crossed Lovers” playing different characters and Stratospheerius members Joe Deninzon (electric violin & vocals), Jamie Bishop (bass), Aurelien Budynek (guitar), and drummer Lucianna Padmore wearing neon-colored masks.

In the video, Max plays a tormented wretched old man stuck in an endless maze of corridors in his mind, his own personal hell. Through the video, he opens different doors and enters new worlds where he assumes a different identity in each, putting on a face and playing a role, always returning back into his hallway of hell and searching for a new doorway to open, doomed to do this for eternity. The band represents the demons who continue to hover around and haunt this man, with a nod to the Droogs from Clockwork Orange.

The video was co-produced by renowned MTV producer David P. Levin, Filner at Alpha Wave Studios in East Hanover, NJ, and edited by David Milone and David P. Levin.

The album GUILTY OF INNOCENCE is finding praise for its songwriting, musicianship, vocals, inventiveness, and sounds:

“Joe Deninzon has made a career…wielding his violin like a guitar. In that way, he has pioneered a new standard for rock violin, much the same way Ian Anderson did for flute.”
PROGRESSION MAGAZINE

”When you put distorted guitars up against a violin you get magic. When you put a violin solo in a metal song, you get Fucking amazing shit! …pure magic!”
– Act One Magazine

GUILTY OF INNOCENCE is a howl for justice delivered by virtuosos completely in synch with one another!“ writes
– Strings Magazine, the “Bible” for the String music world.

“GUILTY OF INNOCENCE is not only great but one of the most hectic and heart-stopping albums I’ve listened to,” states
– Music From the Other Side of the Room Zachary Nathanson.

Stratospheerius has showcased their “frenzied melange of progressive rock, jazz fusion and funkabilly” throughout the world at colleges, festivals, and clubs. They have opened for artists including Alex Skolnick, Gary Hoey, Martin Barre, Tim Reynolds, Mickey Hart, Mike Stern, and John Scofield. The group has played festivals including The Detroit International Jazz Festival, Great South Bay, Chattanooga RiverFest, Harmony Fest a number of times through the years. The band was a winner of the John Lennon International Songwriting Competition the Musicians Atlas Independent Music Awards. They have been featured in Progression, Relix, Downbeat, and Jazziz… Known as the “Jimi Hendrix of violin,” Joe is the author of Mel Bay’s electric violin technique book, “Plugging In: A Guide to Gear and Technique for the 21st Century String Player,” and has recently worked with Bruce Springsteen, Phoebe Snow, Everclear, Peter Criss from KISS, Renaissance, and as a soloist with Jazz at Lincoln Center, the New York City Ballet, and The Muncie Symphony Orchestra on his concerto!

Joe is a keynote speaker at the American String Teachers Association (ASTA) Annual Conference.

About the band:
Singer Ryan Hurtgen originally met Johannes Luley as a client in Luley’s Los Angeles-based recording studio, My Sonic Temple. Luley, who was instantly impressed with his personality, song-crafting skills, and voice, asked Hurtgen to join him on a new project. This new group was going to continue the path Luley’s former band Moth Vellum had set out on. The two became fast friends and soon put together a full band which would also include founding member Jesse Nason on keyboards. After releasing Perfect Beings (2014) and II  (2015) to critical acclaim, a few personnel changes occurred that left the band without a rhythm section. The guys decided they wouldn’t be deterred, even by such a major setback. Instead, they hired Minneapolis transplant Ben Levin to play the drums on their next album, with Luley taking over the bass spot in addition to playing guitars. The result is the exhilarating double album, Vier. As the group got closer to completing the record, they approached InsideOut, whose label chief Thomas Waber had shown interest a couple of years earlier. The parties agreed to join forces and release the record in early 2018. Levin dropped out and progressive rock drumming phenom Sean Reinert joined the band to add even more life force to an already powerful and highly skilled group, which also includes Jason Lobell on bass. The band can be seen in its current lineup at RoSfest 2018, early May in Gettysburg, PA.

Bibeau Release New Song/Video “Leeway,” New Self-Titled Debut Album Out 03/23

Bibeau‘s new album self-titled debut arrives on March 23, 2018 via Fade to Silence Records.

To herald the release, the band has shared the new song/music video “Leeway”.

The video was directed by Justin Mosley at Dark Letter Entertainment. Justin, who directed the band’s first music video, “Mark This” as well as their lyric video “Phantom of the Opera”. Justin added, “Developing the narrative for the “Leeway” video presented a unique challenge. We wanted to demonstrate the emotional conflict conveyed in the song’s lyrics in a physical way, but in a way that featured the warring couple rather than some metaphorical subjects. We decided to create a scenario wherein the couple uses an isolated location and a variety of weapons to take turns purging their frustrations. The concept lent itself to some great aerial shots and visuals that marry well with the song. The whole thing was a great experience. It’s always a blast working with the guys in Bibeau.” He also wrote, produced and directed the film, “The Devil’s Deal”, which was recently released internationally through Lionsgate Films.

On the day after the album’s release, Bibeau is partnering with Rock Rage Radio and Fade to Silence Records to host a special hometown record release party at Click’s Live in Tyler, Texas. The event includes a special listening party, meet and greet/autograph signing and a live concert, which will be hosted by Rock Rage Radio’s James Gentry from “Soundcheck with Gentry” and Jess Rock Rage Rage from “The Sideshow”. Bibeau is set to return to the road in America again in late Spring.

Last year, Bibeau debuted the video for the track “Mark This”. The official music video for which has amassed nearly 200,000 views in a short period of time. “The quintet successfully blends the old and new school metal with a modern, progressive twist.” – Brave Words Bloody Knuckles declared. Horror Metal Sounds, adding, “Upon watching the video, I was blown away by how solid and memorable the song was. I was equally impressed that such a well-written song obviously inspired by classic prog rock and vintage metal roots could come out of such a young band. Thus Bibeau and their music became engrained in my consciousness – and I’ve had their single “Mark This”, and the striking imagery from the accompanying video, looping endlessly in my head ever since. Music Junkie Press offered this assessment of the track, “the time is now for Bibeau as they breathe a fresh new life into the somewhat stale progressive metal scene. It is with their youth and enthusiasm that we can once again enjoy the infectious progressive metal that their musicianship brings to life.”

Additional early global feedback on the song from Metal Forces England and deemed them “Bibeau can best be described as a bridge between power metal classic 70s and 80s, combined with the attitude of today’s modern progressive metal.” This is Bibeau!

“Leeway” is now available for download/streaming at iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Spotify and all worldwide sites. Special 12 song special CD digipack debut record available 3/23/18 via Alliance/Amped Distribution and AWAL Digital worldwide.

Bibeau mystifies listeners with atmospheric melodies over adventurously progressive, powerful dynamics that create an undeniably epic wall of sound that has become the Texans’ trademark.

According to vocalist Drew Theiring, “the lyrical content of “Leeway” comes from an emotional dark spot in someone’s life. There’s a light in the black emerging throughout the tune and, a festering of issues to the surface. Being lied to or taken advantage of is never pleasant nor is it always intended. There’s hope in the fact that life may award you leeway, even if it’s just enough to breathe.

The “Leeway” guitar melody line was written by guitarist/songwriter Robin Bibeau, who subsequently framed the song around what started out as a fingerpicking experiment. “I was playing around with some hybrid picking exercises on guitar, and it eventually developed into what would become the intro to “Leeway”. It was very organic and the intro was kind of like a seed that sprouted into the rest of the song.” added Robin Bibeau

New Video By Chilean Prog Ensemble Aisles!

Chilean Prog ensemble Aisles, South America’s most acclaimed prog band of the last 20 years, is releasing their “Live from Estudio del Sur” sessions. The first of four videos is for the song “Clouds Motion” from Aisles’ debut studio album, “The Yearning.” Says Aisles guitarist, Germán Vergara, “The reason why we chose to record ‘Clouds Motion’ is because, even though it’s one of our oldest tunes, to this day it still represents all of us and it is one of the favorite songs of the audience that has followed us from the beginning of our career.”

Director Bernardo Quesney, renowned for his work with Chilean rock and pop artists like Gepe and Javiera Mena adds: “I had never worked with a band so meticulous in the performance of their music. Their songs are a journey, as they are not just about seeing Aisles play, but there is an actual musical conversation and a challenge between the instruments.”

Aisles are currently closing the promotion cycle of “Hawaii,” their most successful album to date. “Hawaii” has been highly acclaimed by Chile’s most important radio station (Futuro), by South America’s largest rock magazine (Rockaxis) and by international media outlets such as PROG (UK), Neoprog (France) and All About the Rock (UK).
